Process for the production of endless artificial fiber strand, in particular of high
Total titre.

The production of endless artificial fiber strands is already known. Furthermore, z. B. by the oste, rr. In U.S. Patent No. 121235 a way has been shown how such high total denier fiber bundles can be washed and post-treated in a short time; this treatment is carried out in an uninterrupted process on the little or untensioned fiber strands, which are run through different baths and pressed between the baths by powered rubber rollers.

It has now been found that finished fiber strands with a high total denier and surprisingly good physical properties are achieved in a short time if the acid-moist strands are exposed to the highest possible tension before this continuous washing and post-treatment. This tension can be achieved in a known manner by moving the fiber bundles over friction surfaces, e.g. B. over rods, or over rollers with different peripheral speeds; Good results have also been achieved if the freshly produced, i.e. acid-moist, xanthate fiber bundle is allowed to pass through an approximately 5 m long water bath at approximately 80 ° C. with simultaneous tension, whereby coagulation occurs very quickly.

The tension can also be applied during a longer air path before entering the aftertreatment baths.
