Ein derartiges Bauelement ist beispielsweise in der AT 393 858 B beschrieben. [0002] Platten aus insbesondere faserverstärktem Gips haben eine Dichte zwischen 1100 und 1200 kg/m3 und weisen eine Reihe von vorteilhaften Eigenschaften für den Innenausbau auf. Bauelemente, die aus Gipsplatten und Polystyrolschaumplatten zusammengesetzt sind, wären vor allem für den wärmeisolierenden Innenausbau von Dachböden etc. geeignet, wenn sich auch ausreichende brandhemmende Eigenschaften erzielen lassen würden, um den geltenden Vorschriften zu entsprechen. [0003] Um nun für derartige Bauelemente eine Brandhemmung EI30 entsprechend Eu-Norm EN 13501, Teil 2, also eine Brandhemmung von zumindest 30 Minuten zu erzielen, ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, dass die Gipsplatte mit einer Brandschutzbeschichtung aus einem anorganischen Mittel auf Silikatbasis versehen ist, das chemisch gebundenes Wasser enthält. Dieses Mittel gibt im Brandfall ab ca. 250°C das gebundene Wasser ab, bläht sich in der Folge auf und härtet aus. Ein derartiges Material ist beispielsweise unter der Bezeichnung SiCoat-W von der Fa. SioTech Technologie GmbH in Kottingbrunn erhältlich. Bevorzugt ist die Brandschutzbeschichtung auf der vom Polystyrolschaumkörper abgewandten Außen- bzw. Oberseite und allen Stirn- bzw. Schmalseiten vorgesehen. Eine Brandschutzbeschichtung nur an der Verbindungsfläche zum Polystyrolschaumkörper oder an allen Seiten der Gipsplatte ist ebenfalls möglich. [0004] Die Brandschutzbeschichtung ist bevorzugt mit einer wasserlöslichen Farbe überzogen, wobei die Farbe insbesondere eine Mischung von synthetischen Harzen mit Wasser und Pigmenten ist. Eine geeignete Farbe ist beispielsweise bei der Fa. Mankiewicz Gebr. & Co. in Hamburg unter der registrierten Bezeichnung CELEROL® erhältlich.
