Verfahren zum Ein- und Umschmelzen von Metallen und Metallabfällen.
Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Verbesserung des Verfahrens zum Ein-und Umschmelzen von Metallen und Metallabfällen im Flammofen, wobei das Schmelzgut durch eine Schutzschicht vor der unmittelbaren Einwirkung der Flamme geschützt ist.
Das bekannte Verfahren zum Ein-und Umschmelzen von Metallen und Metallabfällen mit dem Flammofen bietet gegenüber dem ebenfalls bekannten Verfahren mit dem Tiegelofen den wesentlichen Vorteil, mit grösseren Einsatzmengen arbeiten zu können. Ein grosser Nachteil des bekannten Schmelzens mit dem Flammofen unter einer Schutzdecke liegt jedoch in der schlechten Ausnutzung der erzeugten Wärme, indem die Wärme der Heizgase und die strahlende Wärme der erhitzten Ofenwandungen nicht in unmittelbare Berührung mit dem Schmelzgut kommen, sondern nur durch die wärmeisolierend wirkende Abdeckung der Schmelze mittels Schlacke, Salz, Kohlenstaub od. dgl. hindurch, die zur Vermeidung der Absorption von Heizgasen durch die Metallschmelze und zur Verringerung des Abbrandes derselben vorhanden sein müssen, an das Schmelzgut gelangen können.
Gemäss vorliegender Erfindung wird nun die Schmelzwirkung dadurch erhöht, dass ein drehbarer Flammofen mit über der Schutzdecke wirbelnder Flamme verwendet wird, durch dessen Drehen die von lem den Flammen ausgesetzten Teil der Ofenwandung aufgenommene Wärme dem Sehmelzgut zugeführt wird.
Dadurch wird der Vorteil einer besseren Ausnutzung der erzeugten Wärme und damit eine grössere Wirtschaftlichkeit gegenüber den bekannten Verfahren erreicht.

The present invention relates to an improvement of the method for melting and remelting metals and metal waste in the flame furnace, the melting material being protected from the direct action of the flame by a protective layer.
The known method for melting and remelting metals and metal waste with the flame furnace offers the essential advantage over the likewise known method with the crucible furnace of being able to work with larger quantities. A major disadvantage of the known melting with the flame furnace under a protective cover, however, is the poor utilization of the heat generated, as the heat of the heating gases and the radiant heat of the heated furnace walls do not come into direct contact with the melting material, but only through the heat-insulating cover the melt by means of slag, salt, coal dust or the like, which must be present to avoid the absorption of heating gases by the metal melt and to reduce the burn-off of the same, can reach the melt.
According to the present invention, the melting effect is increased by using a rotatable flame furnace with a flame swirling over the protective cover, the rotation of which transfers the heat absorbed by the part of the furnace wall exposed to the flames to the silt material.
This has the advantage of better utilization of the heat generated and thus greater economic efficiency compared to the known methods.
