  Undercarriage for aircraft.

The invention relates to chassis for aircraft in which the axis of the running wheels is designed as a wing-like widened spring with a streamlined cross-section, for the purpose of simplifying the chassis as much as possible and creating the best conditions for resistance and load-bearing effect.

The invention differs from the known designs in that the spring leaves are made of wood, for example ash wood. This results in a substantial weight reduction. As a result, a significantly larger wheelbase can be provided for the chassis without increasing the weight compared to the known designs.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in 5 figures.

1 shows schematically a front view and FIG. 2 shows part of the associated floor plan.

3-5 show cross-sections through the spring axis along the lines rl-l7, b-b and c-c.

As Fig. 1 shows, the axis a of the aircraft consists of a leaf spring layer made of wood, such as ash wood. The running wheels b of the chassis are directly connected to the bottom leaf, while the aircraft fuselage c is placed on the spring axis in a manner known per se.

As FIG. 2 shows, the spring formed as an axis is shaped like a wing. In this form, it can also be used as a buoyancy-generating means.

The cross-sections according to FIGS. 3, 4 and 5 show that the spring formed as an axis has streamlined cross-sections at all points.
