Clothespin.
The clothes peg according to the invention differs from the shape of the previously known clothes peg in that it does not have two prongs (arms) of the same length, but is designed in the shape of a hook. The longer, stronger arm 1 can be used as a handle when placing the clip on the clothesline; the shorter, weaker and therefore well resilient arm 2 reliably clamps the laundry on the line in the slot 3, which is advantageously somewhat curved. When attached to the line, the center of gravity of the clip is below the line, preventing the clip from tipping and falling.
The new shape of the clip, which is shown in Fig. 1 of the drawing, enables a very economical production, which saves a lot of material compared to the previous manufacturing methods.
An essentially prismatic rod (FIG. 2) is divided by a cut 4, which must be adapted to the shape of the arm 1, into two parts 5, 6 symmetrical to the center of the rod, into which the slots 3 are then worked.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Clothes peg, characterized in that it has the shape of a hook with arms of unequal length and unequal strength (1 and 2), whereby good suspension and a low center of gravity is achieved.
