Verfahren zur Herstellung von Schwefelkohlenstoff.
Bisher wurde Schwefelkohlenstoff so hergestellt, dass in einer Retoite Kohle und Schwefel, welch letzterer in flüssigem Zustande zufloss, zur Reaktion gebracht wurden. Das Reaktionsgefäss wurde entweder durch eine Aussenbeheizung oder durch eine direkte Innenbeheizung mittels elektrischen Stromes auf die Reaktionstemperatur erhitzt. Durch die auf diese Weise zugefühlte Wärme wurde gleichzeitig der Schwefel verdampft.
Die Erfindung beruht darauf, den Schwefel in gasförmigem, überhitztem Zustande dem auf die Reaktionstemperatur gebrachten und mit Kohle beschickten Reaktionsraum zuzuführen.
Das Verfahren erfolgt derart, dass man den Schwefel gesondert verdampft und überhitzt und alsdann den so behandelten Schwefeldampf auf die gleich hoch erhitzte Kohle einwirken lässt. Die Vorerhitzung der Kohle kann auf beliebige Weise'erreicht werden, sei es durch direkten elektrischen Strom oder durch Aussenheizung oder durch Heissblasen mit Luft.
Auf diese Weise hat man die Dosierung der Schwefelzufuhr besser als bisher in der Hand und erreicht infolgedessen ein reineres Produkt.
Die Vorteile der räumlichen Trennung der Schwefeldampferzeugung vom eigentlichen Reaktions- raum zeigen sich u. a. auch in der Kohleersparnis und in Vereinfachung der Apparatur. Bei hinreichend grossem Schwefeldurehsatz kann auf die Beheizung des Reaktionsraumes verzichtet werden, da die CS2Bildung aus gasförmigem, überhitztem Schwefel und erhitzter Kohle ein exothermer Vorgang ist.

So far, carbon disulfide has been produced in such a way that coal and sulfur, which flowed in in a liquid state, were made to react in a retoite. The reaction vessel was heated to the reaction temperature either by external heating or by direct internal heating by means of an electric current. The heat generated in this way also evaporated the sulfur.
The invention is based on supplying the sulfur in a gaseous, overheated state to the reaction space which has been brought to the reaction temperature and charged with coal.
The process is carried out in such a way that the sulfur is evaporated and superheated separately and then the sulfur vapor treated in this way is allowed to act on the coal, which is heated at the same level. The preheating of the coal can be achieved in any way, be it by direct electrical current or by external heating or by hot-blowing with air.
In this way, the dosage of the sulfur supply is better in hand than before and consequently a purer product is achieved.
The advantages of the spatial separation of the sulfur vapor generation from the actual reaction space can be seen among others. a. also in saving coal and in simplifying the apparatus. If the sulfur urine is sufficiently high, the reaction chamber does not need to be heated, since the formation of CS2 from gaseous, superheated sulfur and heated coal is an exothermic process.
