Abstract

En el presente documento se proporcionan plantas y partes de plantas que comprenden actividad reducida de BIG SEEDS (BS), y composiciones y métodos para producir tales plantas y partes de plantas. Las plantas y partes de plantas pueden tener una mutación genética que reduzca la actividad de BIG SEEDS, que pueden ser una o más mutaciones en al menos un gen BS u homólogo o en su región reguladora. Las plantas y las partes de las plantas pueden tener un mayor tamaño de los órganos y/o contenido de proteínas o aminoácidos. Reivindicación 38: El método de acuerdo con la reivindicación 37, en donde dichos reactivos de edición comprenden al menos una nucleasa, en donde la nucleasa escinde un sitio diana en un genoma de dicha planta, parte de planta o célula de planta, y dicha mutación se introduce en dicho sitio diana escindido. Reivindicación 41: El método de acuerdo con la reivindicación 40, en donde la nucleasa CRISPR es una nucleasa Cas12a o un ortólogo de la misma. Reivindicación 66: Un constructo de ADN que comprende, en unión operable: (i) la secuencia de ácido nucleico de acuerdo con la reivindicación 64; y (ii) un polinucleótido de interés. Reivindicación 67: Una célula que comprende la molécula de ácido nucleico de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 62 - 64, o el constructo de ADN de acuerdo con la reivindicación 65 o 66.
