Abstract

Reivindicación 1: Procedimiento para la preparación de telmisartan, caracterizado porque (a) 2-n-propil-4-metil-6-(1’-metilbencimidazol-2’-il)-bencimidazol de fórmula (1) se hace reaccionar con un compuesto de la fórmula general (2) en la cual Z representa un grupo lábil, y el compuesto así obtenido, en caso deseado, se somete a una elaboración, (b) el grupo ciano del compuesto, así obtenido, 2-ciano-4’-[2’’-n-propil-4’’-metil-6’’-(1’’’-metilbencimidazol-2’’’-il)-bencimidazol-1’’-il-metil]bifenilo de fórmula (3) se transforma a continuación por hidrólisis en la función ácido, y el telmisartan, así obtenido, se transforma durante la elaboración, en caso deseado, en el hidrocloruro.
