Métodos y plantas para controlar insectos lepidópteros, donde dichas plantas comprenden una proteína insecticida Vip3Ab en combinación con una proteína Cry1Ab para retrasar o prevenir el desarrollo de la resistencia por parte del insecto o los insectos; particularmente, el gusano de la mazorca del maíz.Reivindicación 2: Una composición para controlar insectos Helicoverpa zea, donde dicha composición comprende la proteína insecticida Cry1Ab y la proteína insecticida Vip3Ab de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1.
