Abstract
Una aparato y método mejorados para producir ácido acético que incluyen recuperar producto del residuo de una columna de fracciones volátiles y alimentar el ácido de modo de así recuperado a fin de aumentar la productividad del sistema. La carga en la columna de fracciones volátiles es reducida y la carga en una columna deshidratante puede también reducirse en una realizacion preferida en donde el ácido recuperado es alimentado en forma continua sin otra eliminacion de agua. Reivindicacion 1: Un procedimiento de carbonilacion para producir ácido acético que comprende: (a) carbonilar metanol o sus derivados reactivos en presencia de agua, un catalizador seleccionado entre catalizadores de rodio, catalizadores de iridio y mezclas de los mismos, y un promotor de ioduro metilo para formar una mezcla de reaccion de ácido acético en un reactor; (b) separar la corriente de la mezcla de reaccion de ácido acético dentro de una corriente de reciclado de líquido y una primera corriente de producto crudo; (c) alimentar la corriente de primer producto crudo a una columna de fracciones volátiles; (d) destilar la corriente de producto crudo para eliminar los componentes de bajo punto de ebullicion y generar un corriente de primer producto purificado y una corriente de residuo líquido, en donde la corriente de residuo líquido consiste predominantemente de ácido acético; (e) vaporizar por lo menos una porcion de la corriente de residuo líquido para, proveer una corriente de segundo producto; y (f) alimentar la segunda corriente de producto en forma continua.
