Abstract
En un sistema de múltiples capas que incluye una capa de aplicación y una capa de transporte y una capa de transporte, se interconectan diferentes tecnologías de transporte sin terminar la senalización de la capa de aplicación o sin involucrar una interconexión de tecnología en el plano de control de la capa de aplicación (por ejemplo, sin interconexión en la senalización de la aplicación). En varias realizaciones ilustradas, la capa de aplicación es una capa de red de radio de un sistema inalámbrico de comunicaciones. En, por lo menos, algunas de las realizaciones de la presente, una función de interconexión de la capa de transporte se sitúa en una interfaz entre dos nodos de la red de acceso por radio (RAN). La función de interconexión puede ubicarse en un nodo separado que puede ser un nodo que tiene tanto interfaces ATM como de protocolo de Internet (IP). Existen numerosos modos de implementar la interconexión de la presente, sin importar que interfaz se vea afectada (por ejemplo, una interfaz Iur, una interfaz Iu, o una interfaz Iub). Un primer modo de interconexión incluye la interconexión con senalización q.aa12. Existen varias formas u opciones de implementar la interconexión con senalización q.aa12. una primera de dichas opciones ejemplificativas es el uso de un protocolo de senalización específico de IP en una red de IP. Una segunda opción ejemplificativa es el uso de senalización q.aa12 en una red de IP desde/hacia el nodo IP. En uno de sus aspectos, la presente también suministra una característica de optimización en el caso que los nodos en ambos lados de la interfaz (una interfaz Iu, una interfaz Iur, o una interfaz Iub) sean nodos conectados al IP. Otro modo de interconexión incluye la obtención de una dirección y parámetros de identificar de enlace para su inclusión en los mensajes de senalización de la aplicación, por medio de la consulta de un pasaje de interconexión de la capa de transporte. Aún otro modo de implementar la interconexión para la presente incluye el uso de túneles.
