Abstract

The binder composition is either (1) insoluble in water that contains more than about 0.5 percent by weight of monovalent ions or water that has a multivalent ion concentration greater than about 200 parts per million of multivalent ions and soluble in water that contains less than about 0.5 percent by weight monovalent ions or water that has a multivalent ion concentration of at least 200 parts per million multivalent ions; or (2) insoluble in water that have a temperature of more than about 30sC and soluble in water that has a temperature of less than about 25sC. The present invention is further directed to a water-dispersible non-woven fabric containing the ion-sensitive or temperature-sensitive binder material, which is useful in the manufacture of disposable personal care products with water discharge. A process for making water-dispersible nonwoven fabrics is also provided.
