Abstract

Un dispositivo de seguridad teniendo multiples rasgos de seguridad se usa con un artículo, tal como un documento seguro, boleto, rotulo o marbete, paraautenticar el artículo y/o codificar datos pertinentes al artículo. Un ejemplo del dispositivo de seguridad incluye un sustrato portador, un estrato metálicosobre el sustrato portador, y un estrato magnético dispuesto sobre el estrato metálico en sustancial registracion con por lo menos una porcion del estratometálico proveyendo de esta manera ambos, rasgos de seguridad metálicos y rasgos de seguridad magnéticos. El estrato metálico y el estrato magnéticotambién forman indicios gráfica y visualmente identificables sobre el sustrato portador para proveer un rasgo de seguridad visual. De acuerdo con un método defabricacion, el estrato metálico se aplica al substrato portador, el estrato magnético se aplica al estrato metálico, y los estratos son grabados paraformar el indicio gráfico. El estrato magnético puede incluir, en una realizacion, un resistente químico magnético que es impreso sobre el estratometálico en la forma del indicio gráfico. Los rasgos de seguridad magnéticos usan una o más características magnéticas, tal como la característica de niveldemagnetismo y de velocidad de decaimiento de los imanes blandos, para autenticar y/o modificar datos. El rasgo de seguridad magnético puede tambiénincluir huellas magnéticas para registrar datos. Los datos de seguridad metálicos usan diferentes longitudes de regiones conductoras para autenticar y/o codificar datos. Se provee también un método de autenticacion del dispositivo
