The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of implementing the
assessment model based on character building to improve discipline and student’s
achievement. Assessment model based on character building includes three components, which
are the behaviour of students, the efforts, and student’s achievement. This assessment model
based on the character building is implemented in science philosophy and educational
assessment courses, in Graduate Program of Educational Technology Department, Educational
Faculty, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. This research used control group pre-test and post-test
design. Data collection method used in this research were observation and test. The observation
was used to collect the data about the disciplines of the student in the instructional process,
while the test was used to collect the data about student’s achievement. Moreover, the study
applied t-test to the analysis of data. The result of this research showed that assessment model
based on character building improved discipline and student’s achievement.

The purpose of this study is to develop electronic storybook and use it in elementary school students. The material is about the rights and obligations of the civic education course for fifth-grade Elementary School. This study using the R & D model. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, interviews, and tests to determine the media feasibility, and the level of effectiveness using the t-test. The trial was carried out on material and media experts and also the students. The results of the media feasibility test are categorized very well, meaning that electronic storybook is feasible to be applied in learning. Then the book has been applied and students are given a pretest and post-test. The post-test results were higher than the pre-test results. Based on the analysis data it can be concluded that the t-count is greater than t table. So, there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test and it is stated that electronic storybooks significantly improve student motivation in reading and their learning outcomes.

The purpose of this study was to identify the ideal book for preparing students to learn of disability sport. The benefit of this research is that after finding out the ideal book, the results of the study will be used for further research, namely developing an introductory sports disability book. This research used the survey research method. The survey was conducted on 60 students at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Universitas Negeri Surabaya and 2 experts in the field of disability sports. Data collection tools in the form of questionnaires, checklist sheet, and interview guidelines. This research has succeeded in getting very detailed data and information that needed and the result will be used for further research, namely developing Introductory book for coaching athletes with a disability.

This study aims to develop an online learning media on nutrition and reproduction material, and to determine the effectiveness of the media. The method was based on Research and Development model by Plomp (1997) through five stages: investigation, design, realization, evaluation and implementation. The data was retrieved through the interviews, questionnaire and test. The online media has been developed, and was considered effective when tested in the experiment. Its use has contributed in increasing the level of students' knowledge in the subject. This result was based on the significant difference between pre-and post-test scores. The implication of this study is that the use of online media can be adopted in the study of nutrition and reproduction for high school students in a wider scope, especially around Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia.

The purpose of this study is to find a model of successful family education instilling moral and religious values in an effort to prepare the young generation to face the 4.0 industrial revolution. The findings can be used as best practice for families who want to instill moral and religious values for their children and also can be used as a basis for compiling a theory of family education that is in accordance with Indonesian culture. The research approach is Qualitative. The sampling technique was purposive snowball sampling. Data were collected using the method of in-depth interviews and observations while maintaining the credibility of the data using triangulation methods and sources. The data analysis technique uses qualitative descriptive. There are three findings, the first is that education begins when the child is still in the womb of the mother. Secondly, the principle used in educating is "ing ngarso sung tulodho, ing madyamangunkarsa, tut wurihandayani". Third, the pattern of cooperation between father and mother in educating children using the philosophy of "successful children's education because of the role of wise mothers and mothers who successfully educate children because of the support of wise fathers".

Pembelajaran Bahasa Jepang bertujuan agar para siswa dapat mengkomunikasikan ide atau gagasannya dengan menggunakan Bahasa Jepang baik dengan cara lisan maupun tulisan. Mata pelajaran Bahasa Jepang tentang nihon go de nan desu ka, mengharuskan siswa untuk mengerti dan memahami kosakata terutama kata benda dalam Bahasa Jepang, dalam hal ini media scrabble huruf hiragana merupakan media pembelajaran yang tepat untuk membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar. Berdasarkan hasil observasi terdapat masalah pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa ke kelas X di SMAN 22 Surabaya pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Jepang bab nihon go de nan desu ka dikarenakan perbendaharaan kata benda siswa yang rendah. Berdasarkan sampel yang diambil, dari 12 siswa kelas X Bahasa hanya terdapat 3 siswa yang mendapatkan nilai sesuai SKM (70) dan 9 siswa lainnya kurang dari SKM. Pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan media scrabble huruf hiragana dan untuk mengetahui efektivitas media scrabble huruf hiragana dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X di SMAN 22 Surabaya. Model dan prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu R & D Borg and Gall. Dalam pelaksanaan uji coba dilakukan beberapa tahap, yaitu: review dengan ahli materi dan ahli media, evaluasi dengan uji coba perorangan, uji coba kelompok kecil, uji coba lapangan yaitu dengan kelompok besar dan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar, pengembang melakukan eksperimen semu. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode angket, kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus deskriptif presentase. Sedangkan data eksperimen semu di hitung menggunakan rumus uji t dua sampel bebas. Hasil uji coba kepada dua ahli materi yaitu 97,5% dan uji coba kepada dua ahli media yaitu 89,6%. Sedangkan hasil uji coba perorangan yaitu 81,7%, uji coba kelompok kecil yaitu 87,02%, dan uji coba kelompok besar yaitu 85,5%. Hasil uji t memperoleh data 1,70 < 2,82 maka hasil tersebut menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) mengembangkan modul mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial materi pokok keragaman sosial budaya yang layak, bertujuan (2) untuk mengetahui keefektifan modul dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial materi pokok keragaman sosial budaya kelas VIII di SMPN 1 Driyorejo. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Dalam pelaksanaan uji coba dilakukan beberapa tahap, yaitu: review dengan ahli materi, ahli media, uji coba perseorangan, uji coba kelompok kecil dan uji coba kelompok besar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara terstruktur, angket dan tes. Hasil uji coba kepada dua ahli materi menunjukkan kualifikasi sangat baik dan uji coba kepada dua ahli media menunjukkan kualifikasi sangat baik. Hasil uji coba perseorangan menunjukkan kualifikasi sangat baik, uji coba kelompok kecil menunjukkan kualifikasi sangat baik, dan uji coba kelompok besar menunjukkan kualifikasi baik. Hasil pre-test dan post-test adalah 5,641 > 1,697. Modul dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa secara signifikan karena skor post-test lebih besar dari skor pre-test dengan perhitungan t hitung lebih besar dari t tabel yaitu 5,641 > 1,697, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan modul pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial materi pokok keragaman sosial budaya layak dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Abstract The purpose of this research are (1) to develop the Social Science subject module on the subject of appropriate socio-cultural diversity, aiming (2) to know the effectiveness of the module in improving the learning outcomes in the subject of Social Sciences of the subject matter of the socio-cultural diversity of class VIII in SMPN 1 Driyorejo. In the implementation of the experiment conducted several stages, namely: reviewed by material experts, media experts, individual trials, small group trials and large group trials. Data collection techniques used were structured interviews, questionnaires and tests. Test results to two material experts excellent qualification and trials on two media experts excellent qualification. Individual test results excellent show qualification, small group trials excellent more qualification, and large group trials good qualifications. The result of pre-test and post-test is 5,641> 1,697. Module can improve student learning results significantly because post-test score is bigger than pre-test score with t count is bigger than t table that is 5,641> 1,697, so it can be concluded that module development in Social Science subject matter of socio-cultural diversity and effective use in learning. Abstrak Dalam proses pembelajaran di SDLB-A YPAB Surabaya, guru menggunakan media yang tersedia berupa buku braille. Namun, para siswa sampai sekarang belum banyak yang memiliki buku braille. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, guru hanya merekam proses pembelajaran dalam bentuk audio untuk di ulang kembali ketika di rumah. Merujuk pada teori Anderson tentang 10 kelompok media dan masalah belajar yang ada pada indikator mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas IV di SDLB-A YPAB Surabaya maka media yang cocok untuk materi pantun anak adalah media audio, karena media audio bersifat auditif. Pengembangan media audio pembelajaran ini menggunakan model pengembangan R&D menurut Borg and Gall (2003:572). Jenis data yang digunakan yaitu data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan tes. Analisis data dalam pengembangan media audio dengan bahan pelengkap braille ini bertujuan untuk mengukur perbandingan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah penerapan media audio pembelajaran dalam proses pembelajaran. Perolehan hasil validasi RPP oleh ahli desain pembelajaran sebesar 100% termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik, hasil validasi materi oleh ahli materi sebesar 100% termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Hasil validasi bahan penyerta braille oleh ahli bahan penyerta braille sebesar 100% termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik, dan hasil validasi media sebesar 70,83% dan 100%. Sedangkan hasil dari pre-test dan post-test yang dianalisis menggunakan sign test diperoleh Zhitung sebesar 2,05. Sedangkan Ztabel pada taraf signifikan 0,5% sebesar 1,96. Sehingga Zhitung > Ztabel, maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima sehingga adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dari media audio pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam memahami materi pantun anak siswa tunanetra kelas IV di SDLB-A YPAB Surabaya. Abstract In learning process at YPAB Surabaya SDLB-A, teachers use available media in the form of braille books. However, not many students have braille books until now. To overcome this in teaching and learning activities, the teacher only records the learning process in audio form to be repeated again when at home. Referring to Anderson's theory of 10 media groups and learning problems that are in the indicators of Indonesian Language class IV at SDLB-A YPAB Surabaya, so the media which is be able to children's traditional poetry material is audio media that is auditive. Development of audio learning media uses the R & D development model according to Borg and Gall (2003: 572). The type of data used is qualitative and quantitative data. Data analysis in the development of audio media with complementary braille material aims to measure the comparison of student learning outcomes before and after the application of audio learning media in the learning process. This article describes the learning experiences of students in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Qualitative observation methods and online interviews were conducted, to obtain information about online learning patterns that are often applied by lecturers; the platform that has been selected, the media used by the lecturers; time-frame, student learning experiences, and student responses to lectures. This study reveals that students tend to choose the application of various online learning patterns and simple platforms. As the first conclusion, in search of meaningful online learning experiences, coordinated online learning between pedagogy, technology, and organizational support can effectively foster appropriate learning experiences. The second conclusion is we need to critically examine the benefits and limitations of the types of asynchronous, synchronous, and hybrid online learning encountered. This will facilitate understanding of future complex assignments and can benefit from student learning experiences.

Recently, ESP has been receiving even greater interest due to the effects of globalization within industry and academia, particularly in Asia. In industrial settings, workers increasingly need strong English skills to succeed in their jobs (Anthony, 2015, p.2).  Accordingly, this paper aims at describing the ESP learning process in Non-English Departments at State University of Surabaya (UNESA). This is a case study within the context of the university’s Department of Instructional Technology, School of Educational Sciences. The choice of the case study method is due to its uniqueness because the ESP lecturer at this context does not have an English Language educational background. Besides, the Pondok Pesantren Darul Mustofa also serves the oldest education institution in Burneh area with the culture and tradition different from schools in general. However, many education systems at present is developed and combined with school education, where in term of education system, it is known as salafiyah and khalafiyah (traditional and modern) Both education systems have different tradition. The education of Muslim Boarding School has tradition to study Islamic norms deeply and implements them seriously, obedient in religious service, noble morals, autonomous, patient, modesty; all of them are found in Muslim Boarding School, but difficult to find in schools in general. Meanwhile the traditions of critics, creative, dynamics, progressive, openness, innovative are possessed by general schools. And the study discussed more about the survival of Darul mustopa for today and future, especially to see the real existence and its role as institution for education, religion agents, and a partner for government in develoving the national education.
