Maurice J Casey
Historian of radical politics in modern Ireland and international communist networks.
I am interested in the lived experience of progressive political movements; how individual radicals navigated global networks and conducted personal relationships that shaped their subjective experience.
Originally from Cahir, Co. Tipperary, I recently moved to the UK to begin graduate study. In November 2015, I graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a First Class Honours degree in English Literature and History. In June 2016 I completed my MPhil degree in Cambridge University under the supervision of Prof. Eugenio Biagini. Research for my DPhil thesis "Irish Women and Radical Internationalism: From Suffrage to Antifascism, 1916-1939" was carried out at Jesus College, Oxford, from 2016-2019.
Supervisors: Prof. Senia Paseta and Prof. David Priestland
