Originally intended to be given by the NELI Coordinator, Jo Doran, this talk focused on the success of the 2014 NMU-UFLA Business English and Academic Service Learning Program. The core component of the program, the Academic Service Learning Project, was discussed in the context of International Academic Service Learning. Specifically, the Brazilian graduate students who participated in this program were able to produce an amazing end product in a mere three weeks, while concurrently engaging in business seminars and off-campus trips, as well as cultural activities and weekly outings. The breadth of the program coupled with the accomplishments produced help to shed light on how and to what extent international academic service learning can be successfully implemented.
