Weird But True

Toco the human Collie has a ‘dog’ best friend: an Alaskan Malamute

Is it dog-man’s best friend?

There really is someone for everyone: A Japanese man who lives his life as a human collie was spotted frolicking with a fellow canine cosplayer in a husky suit, as seen in videos blowing up on his YouTube channel.

For the uninitiated, Toco the human Collie, first made headlines and became a sensation after dropping $14,000 on a hyperrealistic custom-made collie suit.

His pet-amorphosis saw the aspiring Lassie go for walks on all fours, carouse with real-life canines, and other stunts that prove that you can teach a faux dog new tricks.

Now, Toco has fulfilled his dream of meeting other pooches by hanging out with a fellow traveler who likes to get gussied up as a husky, whom he introduced to the world recently in a new video.

In videos posted for the human dog’s over 70,000 subscribers on YouTube, the Lass-querader can be seen mixing it up with his best friend in show, shaking each other’s paws, rolling over and playing tug-of-war with a chew toy.

One video even shows the fur-ever friends emulating each other’s dance moves.

The identity of Toco’s fellow dog cosplayer is unclear, however, the commenters believed this Scooby duo was a match made in dog heaven.

“OMG HE GOT A FRIEND,” gushed one fan, while another wrote, “I’m glad that you found someone that you can trust to help you bring two dogs to life!”

A third fawned, “Both of these puppers are too precious for this world!”

Of course, not everyone has been husky-dory with Toco’s lifestyle with many mongrel-ian beefers claiming that he needs therapy while others labeled his puppy proclivity some “weird sex thing.”

However, the human collie refuses to roll over for trolls, insisting that he just loves animals and enjoys “play-acting like a collie.”

Also, contrary to popular belief, Toco is apparently not a “furry” — a subculture/fetish in which people cosplay as dogs and other animals and may engage in sex with each other — but rather a therian, someone who identifies as a non-human species.

Coincidentally, Toco says he’s mulled parroting a menagerie of other animals as well due to the difficulties of moving like a mutt.

“Dogs and humans have different bone structures and the way they bend their legs and arms, so it’s very difficult to make movements that look like this,” Toco said. “I might realistically be able to become another dog, a panda or a bear. A fox or a cat would also be nice, but they are too small for humans to try.”
