I know it could be expanded more, specifically with information concerning Hosea and Gomer (I was already over the suggested length and nearing deadline). Would appreciate feedback to help me improve future papers, and maybe do an expanded version of this one.

Although angels are mentioned in many places in the Bible, more frequently in the New Testament than in the Old, many would agree with Tim Unsworth, "Angels, it seems, are hard to pin down." [1] Nevertheless, an examination of these created beings can bring spiritual benefit. One reason angels are "hard to pin down" is that the theology of angels is incidental to and not the primary focus of Scripture. Angelic contexts always have God or Christ as their focal point (Isa. 6:1-3; Rev. 4:7-11). Most angelic appearances are fleeting and without provocation or prediction. Such manifestations underscore truth; they never embody it. "When they are mentioned, it is always in order to inform us further about God, what he does, and how he does it"-as well as what He requires.

A paper for my Interpretive Methods (hermeneutics) class taken at Fuller Online for transfer to AGTS. Looking at a reading of Psalm 137 from the social location of the reader and how his/her life experience impacts what he/she might most take note of in the text.
