North Central District Health Department provides a number of services to residents of Henry, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble Counties.

Clinical Services

North Central District Health Department offers a variety of clinical services to the four counties that it serves. Our services include, but are not limited to communicable disease, well child care, nutritional services, immunizations, and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI).

Food Services Inspections

Ensuring that restaurants and other venues within the district maintain clean food standards.

Community Outreach

Educating the Community & Reaching out to those in need.

WIC

WIC is a special supplemental nutrition program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) that provides supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.  More than half of the children born in the United States are eligible for WIC services.

HANDS

The Hands Program is a voluntary home visitation program for any new or expectant parents in the Commonwealth.  HANDS supports families as they build healthy, safe, and secure home environments for the optimal growth and development of children.

To help keep you protected, the North Central District Health Department will host a drive-thru COVID vaccine clinic for all four counties from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Shelby County Health Department, 615 11th Street in Shelbyville.

With fall weather settling in, flu cases will soon be on the rise. To help keep you protected, the North Central District Health Department will host a drive-thru flu vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Make your appointment today by visiting www.NCDHD.com, clicking the Patient Portal link at the top of the page, selecting Event Registration and enter the code NCDHD26. Then just fill out the information and select your time.

North Central District respiratory season event

Respiratory season is underway, and state and national officials have said they expect to see increases in flu, RSV and COVID-19 cases as we move into the fall and winter months.
To help the community combat this triple threat, the North Central District Health Department have all the updated vaccines available at the Henry, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble county health departments.
Flu shots are available at all NCDHD locations, including the high dose vaccine for those 65 and older.
