Letpando oil field is located in northern part of Central Myanmar Basin(CMB). Fault dependent anticlinal structure was explored for hydrocarbon targeting of deeper Eocene Podaung Sandstone but no commercial results has not been achieved yet due to the nature of fluvial sandstone reservoir discontinuity and the high formation pressure, causing to make difficult drilling and completion problems. Target was changed to develop more oil from shallow marine sandstone, lower Oligocene Shwezetaw formation. Oil was mainly discovered from Shwezetaw formation commercially in 1996. MOGE conducted extensive development drilling in the all fault blocks which are compartmentalized by generally EW trending of cross faults.
