Qualitative research is a scientific method on which the data collected are non-numerical. It is an interpretative approach on explaining the phenomena, emotions of people and the description of such focus or subject. This research involves qualitative methods and covers study on immaterial factors such as values, influences and opinions. 2. Differentiate the two main approaches of the qualitative data analysis. • Deductive Approach. This type of approach of the qualitative research involves data analysis that is based on the evidence through predictions and predetermination. An approach originated from empirical pole to the theoretical pole. This is also known to be an easy and quick approach of the qualitative data analysis most especially when you already have an idea about responses of the chosen sample of the population. • Inductive Approach. The inductive approach of the qualitative data analysis includes data analysis that is gathered from all information and data available in order to formulate general concepts and ideas. This is an approach opposite to the Deductive Approach because this approach is originated from the theoretical pole to the empirical pole. Opposite from the previous approach, this approach is a time-consuming one for a qualitative research especially when the researcher knows only a little about a certain issue or phenomenon. 3. Differentiate the qualitative and quantitative types of research. For qualitative research it often answers the questions of 'what' and 'why'. It is utilized to explore, explain and understand a certain subject or phenomena. The data are in pictures and objects, and in written data it is in a narrative form. The data are collected through interviews, content analysis and observations. Structured interviews are usually utilized in this kind of research. Questions asks in data gathering are open-ended, it is for the purpose of continuing the conversation or to explore more on a certain issue. The research design is flexible in nature. It can grow as the study process develops and continue. The presentation of results is subjective. The results may contain some biases, experiences and values that affected the interpretation. For quantitative research it often answers the questions of 'how many'. This seeks to prove or disapprove a certain theory or phenomena. The data collected or provided are in numerical form which results to statistical analysis. Data collected are from questionnaires, instruments, simulations, experimentation, etc. The use of highly structured method is applied. For quantification, the use of closed-ended questions are utilized. The research design is highly-structure in nature. It focuses on the advancement of the study. The documentation and presentation of results is objective.
