However, the economic and development growth of highlands gave potential effect of biological wealth and environment surrounding. Noise pollution in developing highland area could intrude the ability to comprehend of natural and environmental sounds. As preliminary, the main objective of this research is to identify factors and elements that characterise the soundscape in three selected green areas on highland environment. The research was carried out through a series of field measurement and audio-visual experiment. At the first stage of the study, the assessment of environmental sounds in three selected landscape areas was conducted. The assessment parameter of LAeq, 8h was taken in daytime for six days. The results ascertained that the all selected landscape areas of highland environment is dominated by sound of vehicle. Next, a series of audio-visual test is conducted where subjects listen to original recorded and combination of several stimuli sound samples to examine the preference and perception of acoustic comfort in selected green areas. In results shown that the natural ambient sound elements for combination stimuli sounds attributed more attention on preference and perception of the soundscape in highland environment.

Effective control measures are needed because of the increase in noise pollution from urbanization and industrial growth. Effectively regulating the level of noise across all areas of engineering is imperative. The development of acoustic materials with exceptional absorption efficiency is a frontier area of study for acousticians and architects alike in the acoustic industry. This field has garnered the attention of material scientists owing to the multiple noteworthy characteristic properties it offers. Sound absorption materials commonly consist of conventional chemical and synthetic constituents that require replacement for various justifiable reasons, so substitution of these materials with natural materials is very important. The employment of sustainable, cost-effective, recyclable, and reproducible natural materials instead of conventional materials plays a crucial role in addressing a myriad of environmental concerns. These concerns include, but are not limited to, increasing greenhouse gas emissions (CO 2 levels), potential health risks, pollution of air and natural ecosystems, increasing the temperature (global warming), reduction of fossil fuels and raw materials, and the attainment of modern and ecologically sound cities. The main purpose of this review is to draw attention to the most promising natural sound fibers. Thus, the focus will primarily be on current trends in acoustic natural fibers, recycled materials, and fibers from agricultural wastes. Today, these acoustic fibers are very popular and also drive future directions, particularly by providing the next generation of researchers with considerable opportunities.

The investigations were aimed on clarifying the actual conditions in two waiting areas in two hospitals in Kuala Lumpur. The investigations consist of both noise level measurements and questionnaire surveys, i.e. both physical and psychological aspects. Generally, physical aspects for both hospitals are strongly influenced by noise produced during general activities in waiting areas. Sound pressures data were collected approximately eight hours period in daytime and converted into different levels (LAeq and Leq, max). It was found that the maximum permissible sound level LAeq in all waiting areas measured exceeded the guideline for community noise recommended by World Health Organization (WHO). In this paper, the comparison of normal incidence sound absorption coefficient, (SAC) for three major types of design for the DPCWP is discussed. The simplest form of DPCWP, the circular type, then the geometry and floral types were investigated based on simulation and measurement works using sound intensity method to determine the normal incidence SAC, for 30% and 40% perforation ratios. The simulation work was carried out by using BEASY Acoustic software based on Boundary Element Method (BEM). From the results, there is an identical trend for DPCWP with geometry and floral design from 250 Hz to 4 kHz. Coconut fiber was used to produce BMPP specimen and PLA was used as matrix. Impedance tube method was employed to identify the sound absorption performance of BMPP specimen while a porosity tester was used to determine the porosity of BMPP specimen. Comparison on the sound absorption performance between BMPP and steel MPP will be discussed in this paper. It has been found that BMPP with different composition percentage of coconut fiber and PLA possessed different sound absorption performance mainly due to the existence of pores and tortuous structure within the specimen itself. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) scan was performed to further analyze the structure of BMPP specimen.
