@Takhirgeran Umar: Oh I know ;) I've been manually merging a lot of village items in Konya lately - a silly bot had added a lot of items only setting instance of=human settlement without adding good descriptions, country and located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) and without checking if there already exists a similar item in another language. Many villages in trwiki are lacking wikidata connection althoough they could be bound to already existing items of viwiki. I've merged Cenkyeri (Q109962452) with Cenkyeri (Q10744739) from viwiki.

Hi,

Browsing WD, I found your big input in themes, I′m intested. I improved items with Dictionary of Place Names in Armenia and Adjacent Areas (Q18400705) as a source. Now I do the same with Armenian Soviet Encyclopedia (Q2657718). Sometimes map of 1926 and its catalogue can be helpful.

Mostly I′m intested in lists of wikimapia pages for the territory, where our interests intesect, selected by administrative division. Please, can you help getting them? Any other lists and sources are also welcome.

I can suggest my knowledge of Armenian and Russian and some other sources.

@Kareyac: Hello Kareyac, recently I commented on the talkpage of user Saklanan_gerçekler, someone who had the same edit topics as we both have. Only later I noticed that he had been blocked on all wikis - so I don't think there will be any feedback from his side. But User:Ben Men Lyun might be interested... I cannot read Armenian script so as mentioned on that talk page my only sources are nisanyanmap.org, wikimapia.org and wikidata without knowing how correct those sources are ;) --Katpatuka (talk) 08:17, 5 May 2022 (UTC)

Saklanan is blocked? -it′s a pity, Ben Men Lyun is experienced user, but not very active in WP. I edit WD nearly every day.

Dictionary of Place Names in Armenia and Adjacent Areas (Q18400705) is a good source - 5 volumes in Quatro, up to 1000 pages with a dozen or two of geographical places on each page. It covers Armenia and historically inhabited (or mentioned in Armenian sources) places around. Majority of articles include altenative names of not Armenian origin, it often helps find items with Turkish, Kurdish and other labels. It could be helpful to have lists of geographical objects from wikimapia. For example for some administrative unit of Eastern Turkey, listed by language. I′m not so good in programming and cannot get it.

I know how to get data from openstreetmap.org (OSM) but never managed to get anything using the api of wikimapia. All what I do there is to have a look if a name for hy, ku or ka exists for a place and if yes add it manually to OSM if it seems to be correct ... ;) --Katpatuka (talk) 13:05, 5 May 2022 (UTC)

Merhaba Katpatuka, Vikimedi Topluluğu Türk Dilleri Kullanıcı Grubu olarak 21-23 Ekim 2022 tarihlerinde İstanbul'da Uluslararası Vikiveri konferansı düzenleyeceğiz. Bu konferansın etkinlik sayfasını şurada bulabilirsiniz. Etkinliğe katılabilmek için 31 Temmuz tarihine kadar şuradaki formu doldurmanızı rica ediyoruz. Türkiye'de uluslararası olarak düzenlenecek bu düzeyde bir etkinlik olması dolayısıyla katılımınız çok değerli olacaktır. İstanbul dışından etkinliğe katılacaklar için kota doğrultusunda burs imkanı sağlanacaktır.
