1) Cross-linguistically, phonological copying must be distinguished from morpho-semantic feature reduplication (i.e., genuine reduplication), after Inkelas & Zoll (2005).
2) The reduplicant vocalism found in Class III Presents is determined by the vocalism of the synchronic zero-grade allomorph of a given root. This fact is incompatible with reduplicated as modeling under Base-Reduplicant Correspondence Theory(McCarthy & Prince 1995), but fits with the claims of Morphological Doubling Theory (Inkelas & Zoll 2005).
3) The Vedic data is most readily compatible with the reconstruction of a single type of reduplicated present stem for Proto-Indo-European (cf. Kulikov 2005).
