Nanostructured Semiconductors for Photoelectrocatalysis and Photocatalysis

Participating journal: Discover Nano

Maximizing the harvesting of solar energy stands as the challenge of this century. Photocatalysis, a conventional and cost-effective approach for this target, has gained increasing attention. The design of nanostructures for photocatalysts fundamentally enhances conversion efficiency by addressing key issues such as photoexcited charge separation and transfer, as well as surface reactions. The Topical Collection titled "Nanostructured Semiconductors for Photoelectrocatalysis and Photocatalysis" invites cutting-edge research and review papers that delve into the physicochemical properties resulting from the design of nanostructured materials. These materials serve various energy and environmental applications, including water splitting, CO2 reduction, organic transformations, and more. By triggering potential advances in the field, this collection aims to facilitate the widespread adoption of solar energy as a sustainable solution.

Keywords: Photoelectrochemical, Photocatalysis, Water splitting, Organic transformaiton, Sustainable system.
