All quiet on the western front (2022) is a worthy remake of its predecessor. While not better than the original, it’s still has enough, to warrant its own existence, with fantastic cinematography, great sound design, and some great performances,(despite the repetitive musical score.)

Here is a ambitious film that is ( just like the graphic novel is based on,) focuses on one specific space over periods of time, and while being a bit cheesy and heavily relying on de-aging cgi that is hit and miss, Here is still a sweet, emotional look at the memories we make and the ups and downs of life. I can definitely see people hating this or loving this, while I’m not on the side of loving it, I did still enjoy this enough to say that it’s worth checking out at least once.

This movie feels more like evil dead than It, meh cgi, very goofy (but in a good way like the first),well acted, and a very bloated but entertaining sequel that for the most part ends the story with a somewhat decent conclusion.

50/50 is a genuinely sweet and mostly funny film, that tackles the difficulties of living with cancer, while it’s held back by a inconsistent Seth Rogan performance and the characters feeling more like archetypes, it is held up by a well written script, and probably a career best performance by Joesph Gordon Levitate.
