    This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

    When the little boy ran up to Bisan, I smiled for a moment until I felt my heart sink. Initially his glossy eyes seemed happy, but the longer I looked the more I saw a deep anxiety on his face, hidden behind a mask of trying to keep positive and appreciation for life like Bisan says somewhere in the documentary. It’s like a sick, dark Pantomime. Strength and solidarity to Palestinians.

    Mildly enjoyable, but borders on boring. Moreover, it does not faithfully and accurately represent colonial and native culture(s) around this time. For instance, I was particularly disappointed by the portrayal of the Khoi as harboring homophobic attitudes when historical evidence shows us that they were positive, which is particularly disappointing for a queer movie (further reading here).
