I didn’t make any comments on the first two because I wanted to save my thoughts for once I’d finished the trilogy and now that I have, I can’t even find the words.

These films are absolutely incredible. I’m blown away by the perfect writing, the fucking astounding performances from absolutely everyone involved and the sheer force of its emotional beats. This is a perfectly crafted trilogy that is equal parts heartbreaking and life-affirming.

I know how cheesy this sounds, but this genuinely is the kind of art that makes me thankful to be alive in time to experience it.

I hate to say it because I love Alex Garland, but he was not cooking with this one.

It’s competently made with solid performances and photography and a great soundtrack and all that, but the decision to leave the reasons for the war vague and every character neutral left a sour taste in my mouth.

My man Jim Cummings has done it again! I was looking forward to this one due to how much I love horror and how much Thunder Road blew me away and it didn’t disappoint.

Emotionally, it doesn’t hit quite as hard as Thunder Road, but Jim is still 2 for 2. My biggest complaint is that his character in these two films are like the exact same person. I think this actually might have worked better as a direct sequel.

Regardless, Cummings pretty blatantly has incredible talent and absolutely immense potential. Whatever he does next, I’ll be there.

    ★★★

I’m just gonna come right out with it: every scene between Kenobi and Vader is fucking incredible, but I literally could not possibly have given a shit about anything else that was going on.

Bland and one-dimensional side characters, weak performances (I didn’t care for Moses Ingram’s performance but anyone who harasses her on social media for that or her race is objectively a complete piece of shit) and some very surprisingly bland music for John Fucking Williams.

    The fan…
