This thesis explores, and opens up the discussion of the validity of the female mufti. The role of the female throughout Islamic history up until the contemporary in terms of issuing Islamic legal verdicts and rulings. The writing will use secondary and some primary sources to draw on technical jurisprudence to show the validity of women being allowed to take this role. The thesis will also discuss some previous characters in the annals of history who were known for their excellence in acumen when providing legally binding Islamic rulings; The Role of the Muftiyya
