Chwen Sheu
Chwen Sheu, the Paul Edgerley Chair in Business Administration, is a Full Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management and the Interim Associate Dean for Academic Programs, College of Business Administration, Kansas State University.
Sheu received his Ph.D. in Operations Management from Ohio State University. He is nationally and internationally recognized in the field of operations management with a focus on supply chain management, manufacturing sustainability, and global manufacturing management. He teaches in the areas of supply chain management, manufacturing sustainability, continuous improvement, theory of constraints (TOC), and project management.
Sheu has authored or co-authored over 130 refereed journal and proceedings articles. His work has received numerous best paper and research award honors from several academic organizations and profession meetings, including the Indiana University CIBER Best International Collaboration Paper Award, the International Journal of Operations and Production Management, the Welliver Boeing Faculty Fellow, and Academy of Management meeting.
Sheu has served as the president of the Global Manufacturing Research Group (www.gmrg.org). He is currently the VP of Education, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (Kansas City). He has consulted for more than 40 firms (including Boeing, China Mobile, Western Resources, Boehringer Ingelheim, Taipei Computer Association, Motorola, and Kansas Farm Bureau) in the areas of supply chain management, continuous improvement, and project management.
Sheu has received several honors in teaching, including Commerce Bank Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching, Kansas State Bank Teaching Award, Conoco Excellence in Teaching Award, and DSI Instructional Innovation Award. In the last few years, Sheu has taught Supply Chain Management to various groups of corporate executives in China and Taiwan.
Sheu has been a faculty member at Kansas State University since 1990.
