concrete was optimized with the Box Behnken method and compared with the results of the
previous Taguchi optimization study. Ground calcium carbonate (GCC) was also added to the
mixture. According to the results of the modeling and laboratory studies, it has been determined
that the Box Behnken methodology is within acceptable values, although it does not give as
harmonious results as the Taguchi method.

Gypsum and gypsum based composite are widely preferred in construction industry for various purpo... more Gypsum and gypsum based composite are widely preferred in construction industry for various purposes. Mechanical performances of gypsum composite have been enhanced by researchers in order to increase its area of usage. In this research, gypsum composites containing expanded glass were reinforced by glass fibers (GF) and mono polypropylene fibers (MPF). GF and MPF were used up to 1.5 %. The flexural strength, compressive strength, and shrinkage behavior of the composites were examined within the scope of this study. 50 x 50 x 50 mm and 40 x 40 x 160 sized specimens were prepared for the mechanical performance tests. It was obtained that flexural and shrinkage behavior of the composite were enhanced with the addition of MPF compared to GF added mixes; however, compressive strength values were not as high as GF reinforced composites.

The potential impact of the wind depends on the geometric properties and pertinacity of a building, the angle of the wind flow, its strength and velocity. Design gains importance for tall buildings against the impact of the resonance along with the force based on pressure. Relevant calculations are made in Turkey based on the TS 498 Wind Load Velocity Criterion and this standard is currently being updated. This study develops the wind load design of hangar-type closed steel structures with different roof pitches using Abaqus CAE software.

Many researches have been conducted on these types of composites; however, there are very limited literature studies focused on the estimation of flexural strength of the fiber reinforced gypsum-based composites. And there is no current study on the mechanical strength estimation of these types of composites. An extensive experimental data covering 275 flexural strength test results with five input parameters (fly-ash, basalt, superplasticizer contents, water to binder ratio and slump values) were utilized for the artificial neural network (ANN) model designation. Effect of each parameters on the flexural strength were carefully analyzed. An empirical formula was developed with the generalization capabilities of the proposed ANN system, as well. As widely accepted, scaffolding works are one of the temporary facility in a construction project... more As widely accepted, scaffolding works are one of the temporary facility in a construction project. However, its impact on a project is very significant, so they must be comprehensively planned, designed and erected. The current practices on these are often manual and reactive, and abnormally performed while the project is on-going. In Turkey, there are no legal regulations for the manufacturers of scaffoldings. Only some legal requirements are used for scaffolding works, especially on the construction sites. For these reasons, a simple and confidential design analysis method can be efficiently and effectively searched by the practitioners. In order to make a contribution to the relevant studies, this research has been conducted. This paper presents the results of a research whose aim was to introduce a new perspective view on the safety regulations of scaffolding production and erection works on a construction site for examining a case study.
