so true

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much!

All the reception to this little project has really left me inspired to come back and take the concept to a fleshed out, full length piece- so I'm deeply grateful for any and all feedback~

Thanks for appreciating them! If you use them in anything I'd love to see~

should just be the Z key to progress the dialogue!

Definitely close to what I think I'll end up doing, thanks for the input!

Given the positive reception I'm strongly considering coming back to it and releasing a more full edition- I have some ideas, but I'd love to know what you'd like to see in a longer version?

(1 edit)

Thanks for playing! Glad you feel that way, as much as I'd love to polish it up I'm definitely unsure how much more I could add without detracting from the experience.

Closest thing to a "canon" ending the game has fs

Yeeeesss thank you!! Jumpscares are well and good but I would always rather aim for more of an unsettling aura that just sticks with you.

prepare yourself for the inevitable remake that has like two additional dialogue options and one additional color added to the palette

another satisfied customer~

Thanks! The dialogue trees on this one ended up really broken, so it plays a lot faster than I wanted it to- but the world would be a fun one to build more on, I think

Saaammee (exactly why I had to make it)

Thank you! I'm a huge fan of what lo-res graphics and minimal sound can do for horror, it's a great combo.

oof I KNOW, I've gotten this feedback a lot since I first made it :')- unfortunately this was made like 9 months ago at this point, and I lost the actual file for the game, (it was a quick jam project that I never expected people to look at), so editing anything would require me to rebuild the game entirely. I do luckily still have all the art though, so once I finish my current project I might put up a more polished version of this!

thanks! "vaguely unsettling" is what I strive for in my day to day life at all times, also pretty fond of "ominous" and "lightly menacing".

What are the odds lmaoo I'll shoot you a follow on insta

So based, also nice to see Barnacle Bill Roddy as an inclusion to show support for Lake Michigan piracy!!

Thanks! I think I just chatted with you on an older account of mine, did you happen to use a gbstudio fence set in your project?

highest compliment anyone could give tbh~

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

thank u for spending some time with it!

thank uuuu~

yeah, I made it in a very short timeframe and didn't end up adding as much dynamic choice as I originally thought- that said I think I ultimately ended up preferring the more linear narrative and removing any real effective choice at that point.

PIXEL REPLY

Churned it out in a frenzy in like two evenings so I'm very glad it resonated with you in some way~

thank u for playing!! thrilled that you enjoyed it~

Absolutely beautiful mood-piece, I would play hours of this

Damn that IS scarier you're so right, I'm a fool

CC0 is totally fine, credit is always cool but not required~

Stuck at B rank and it's haunting me, I will never be as cool as Ollie

thanks for playing! lessons were definitely learned in regards to the font lol

call 'im King Chawls cause this is a royally good time

yeeessss so glad it resonated!! I love the very crunchy feel elicited by lo-res 2D stuff, gbstudio is perfect for it. Thanks for playing!

10/10, healed me through the power of dance

YOU'RE a gem

Perfectly recreates the feeling of the most awkward of car drives with your dad, and also, coincidentally, watching the Grunch in 4D

Thanks!! thanks for the bug notice, I hadn't found that one yet.

Thank you!! Strongly considering fleshing it out a bit more, that's really validating to hear.

tyyyyyy it definitely fits the trend of my jam games being about 50% of what I wanted them to be, but I'm pretty happy with what I came out with!
