I love the look of this and would love to try it. Because I'm a scaredy cat about malware, I wanted to ask - when I throw the files on virustotal.com, I get trojan warnings (not by the big ones though). Do you know why these warnings come?

Thanks a  lot! Likely your one follower just didn't find anybody who wanted to come along intot he creepy cave - you know how probabilities are. We will make sure to ramp up our tutorial skills!

Thank you! We are definitely going to put this on the pile of "should really expand this one"!

Fantastic character art, great dialogue. Creepy caves! A lot to like about this one, good job!

We are looking into giving this piece more time when the jam is all done. Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks! You can totally sacrifice insane cultists! They go on the altar, to not go do dumb human things like snuff out the entire cult. (Or at least that was the plan. Time, the old foe, prevented us from doing it)

Sorry for the unfinished state leaving so many questions open. Once your first follower has been sent to recruit more (top middle icon), you can drop new cultists on various tasks around the den, some of which are unlocked later - the Necronomicon cannot be written by a caveman but only a high level mage later on, for example. It is meant ot be a scarcity system so don't be disappointed if your entire cult is eaten in the fifth round. Some new follower will turn up eventually.

Thanks for the compliments. I realise a game like this profits from much more tutorial, this is what we could manage in the time ;)
You got the basics right: You send out the first follower to recruit more, then send the new guys to do tasks all around the cave that grant different bonuses, like altar offerings being eaten before cultists, monuments being shields when attacked by other Elder Beings, etc.
Yes, locked items likely meant you did not meet the requirements to tackle them. Many cannot be unlocked in the first few rounds because all you can recruit are illiterate cavemen.

We updated with a lot more info on screen (there is also an overview on the game page). If you'd give it another look, I'd be very interested in hearing what you think of the progress now!

I liked the cold opening a lot. Otherwise I wished for a little more to do and maybe a fighting chance against the lettuce monsters. I am quite content wiht the atmosphere of the whole game though. Good job everyone!

Being a fortuneteller is ahrd, apparently, because I was really torn between scloding the snobs and saving the messes from themselves. It's a pretty intricate little game and I am not sure I played it well, but overall, a great experience (which sounds much more coporate than I wanted to).

Tthumbs up for all this work by yourself! The idea of the light going out was neat - I spent my fair share gaming in dark mazes and this one was cool. If it was intentional that I need to click several times before the bloody flare finally works, my compliments because panic does set in when it doesn't work instantly and I'm all alone in a dark dungeon :D

"You dided. But you stil ahve to come to work". Love it. Great idea for the art style. I was actually scared of the bloody raptor (don't we all have one in the office).

I died a lot against jack'o lanterns... fun concept with the hidden horror made visible by the camera. Decent graphics, too. Good work!

This is actually how client work often seems to me :D It's an unexpected idea for a horror jam. Great art, good execution. I am unsure what he's going on about with the kettle, and I always wish for skippable dilaogue but those are minor points.

We have most of the functionality we want implemented, and the game is now actually playable. If you're up for giving it another go, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks a  lot. We are still in dev and hope to get the finished-ish version with info boxes, explanations, and instructions out before tomorrow's update deadline.

I am happy to hear you found the atmosphere pleasing (if that's the right word for a horror game). There will be more instructions in the next version which we will absolutely at least try to publish in the next two days!

Thanks so much! We are in dire need of the grace period for fixing things just like this and they are definitely planned. So... come back later to check again? Please?

We got a lot of comments about the speech ;) We'll improve that next time around. Sorry you didn't like the puzzles, I understand your frustration. I would love to do games with more adjustable features, but that is one of the things that require time that jams do not necessarily offer.

I understand. We did our best but sometimes things don't add up. We will certainly try again at the next adventure game challenge!

Unbelievable, what some people can do in just two weeks. Excellent work! It was a funny moment when it turned out I'd be the tiny dino :) That actually ties in so well with the Jurassic films we know.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't like it. We were quite pressed for time and of course would've liked to perform better. However, we did not aim for point'n click but a story-centric adventure with puzzles (evade and trap enemies) - much of which has been left on the cutting room floor.

It looks adorable! Very much looking forward to completion.

Yeah, feedback was on the list that had to be cut for time constraints. I myself broke two or three skeletons worth of stegosaurus while testing. Thanks!

We didn't get around to introduce the brush tool (always so little time). As the team artist, I thank you especially!

There is such a plethora of possible further maps and finds. One of the things I would've loved to fit in was an ocean floor diorama with ammonites. Glad you liked it!

I'm glad you like it! Did you use the blue map to find anything? If you don't mind being questioned.

If you're not looking for anyhtign starting this week, I will need writers for upcoming adventure games for jams, if you're interested. As a long time RPGer myself, your D&D experience is a huge plus to me. Stories I enjoy must have witty dialogue, include diverse characters, and be 100% SFW because I want people of all venues to enjoy my games.

I destroyed Earth. But I took some dinos out first. It's a hilarious concept for a game, good job!

This is a hard game. It's also digusting - dinos actually shat on me! But then I puked on them and felt even. I'd love to see a more polished version of this!

I haven't played too many of these game but it was fun. I did manage to find my kids, and the story is hilarious - I'm sure if dinos had survived and had developed supermarkets, this would be very realistic :)

Smooth movement, fun while collecting, and I am amazed you found this almost-winged dino that fits so well for a  double jump (I love  a good in-world explanation)!

(1 edit)

I never managed to grow past hatchling - but not for lack of trying. High points for dinosaur-ness, too! Fun concept, well done!

Not a mashup I expected :D but cool in its execution. Fond memories of the Flintstones come to mind when driving around on humungous reptiles

The game idea is certainly not something I encountered often. It is at the sam time relaxing and exciting, and I kept expecting the monster to rear up and eat me and my boat. Good job!

This was fun. I do not often download jam games, but just the title and screen were enough that I had to. it was fun! I got shot by badguys through the train :D and then gave them hell. This is very fun blend of genres, I would  certainly like to get more of this.
