We've introduced a new option in the submission process that allows you to opt in or out of the cash prize. This update might affect existing games, so you may need to resubmit or edit your submission to ensure your choice is recorded correctly. If you run into any issues or have questions about this update, feel free to reach out to me directly on discord or in this  community section.

You can interpret the theme in any way you like.

Your post will not be disqualified based on your interpretation of the theme.

if you need help exporting you project to a computer you can have someone help you with that

Hello! Free assets are fine to use as anyone can use those assets

I'd say it's open to interpretation, but keep in mind that in any jam, your peers and judges will also be interpreting your work, as that's part of the voting criteria.

Hello SoloDevelopment Game Jam participants!

We’ve got an important update regarding the voting process for this jam. Originally, the plan was to have all entries judged solely by our selected panel. However, we’ve decided to make things a bit more interactive and community-driven!

Updated Voting Process

Community Voting:

- All submitters will now have the opportunity to vote on each other's entries. Your votes will contribute to the main competition results, giving you a direct say in recognizing the standout games created during the jam.

Judges' Voting for Prizes:

- For those aiming to win a share of the prize pool, a separate judging process will take place. Our panel of judges, including CaptainCoder and PracticalNPC, will evaluate eligible entries with a more critical eye using a Google form. Prizes will be awarded based on this stricter evaluation.

Prize Pool Eligibility:

- If you're interested in competing for the prizes, please make sure to check the appropriate box during submission. It's crucial that you follow all the guidelines to be considered for the prize pool. The criteria will be more rigorous, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Participation without Prizes:

- If you prefer to participate without competing for prizes, you’re still welcome to join in the fun! You can submit your game, receive feedback, and vote on other entries without the added pressure of prize eligibility.

Please make sure you’re following all the rules if you’re interested in the prize pool, and don’t hesitate to reach out on our community page or Discord if you have any questions.

Let’s make this jam a great one! We’re excited to see what everyone creates!

Better than Starfield ngl

do you have an actual license that you can attach to this? i would love to add it to my game but i'm scared to use anything that doesn't attach an actual license

are these sounds stolen?

anyone here from 2024? I loved this game, dev fell off tho, she just makes open source vtuber software now. sad.

love the potential this game has already!
some thoughts:
- swinging weapon felt satisfying, moving while swinging weapons feels good, gives full freedom but will be harder to polish in future updates. same will transition states, attack -> jump || jump -> attack || lock move when attacking
- some platforming additions may be necissary for future updates too but i'm sure that wasn't possible since you had such little time. e.g. coyote time, jump buffers, cutting jumps if player lets go too early, etc.

loved this one!

    - pros

        - actually addictive

        - upgrades add some spice

        - every jump felt like life or death - good feeling of intensity
    - cons

        - pacing of water rising when getting an upgrade is a little unfair, i think if you just paused it for a second and explained the mechanic, all would be good. or just let the player press continue

survivor + snake = genius idea and hella fun

really fun! think it would have been a tad easier if the potions had stronger colors for me to differentiate them as the font was a bit hard to read at a lower res

really enjoyed the the mechanics of this one! would love to see this expanded on.

so far has been the most fun i've had (still early tho) Good job!

The prettiest game i've seen so far :D

loved the idea. loved if there was something to do with the "X" potions and if they would spawn a little faster/
