Yeah, the author… She was like Ursula LeGuin of Polish comics back then. And the series was a lot of fun.

You need to download the background files and put them in the assets/backgrounds
folder of GB Studio to be able to use them in game. If you’re using any other game engine, then it should be similar.
You can have a look at this game: https://godai78.itch.io/europa-rescue
All the resources for it were made available on GitHub: https://github.com/godai78/europa

It’s a nice idea and I do have exactly such game in the works, but it’s stalled for months. You can see a proof of concept here: https://godai78.itch.io/pocket-dungeon
I’m more than glad to announce that the Win64 version of my point and click space station simulator is finally available.
You are a lonely cosmonaut who needs to repair a defunct orbital station before it causes some problems. Find tools, and spare parts and carry on repairs and maintenance onboard “Europa” to make it functional again and prepare it for the arrival of the crew.
Apart from the newly released Windows version, there is also a Game Boy Color ROM as well as an Analogue Pocket file. And of course the online version, too!
Sure thing, is available here on itch from MxAshlynn: https://mxashlynn.itch.io/fonts-for-gb-studio
Thanks!
Glad to hear you liked it so far.
What is MC? Maybe I can work on it.
The saving does nothing yet, it just sits there for future functionality (in fact the “New game” / “Continue game” system is there, but disabled to avoid problems with outdated saves during development). I believe these messages will be replaced by some more advanced splash pages instead in the future while retaining the saving system as it is.
Here we go again. I’m almost sure I’ll not be able to finish the game within the given timeframe, but I’m not very concerned about it. I’ll have to rewrite the plot paths at that moment. SO far I have one ending (the speedrun path, one choice - one down) and coded two meetings with meaningful dialogues. SO that is not as much as I expected to come up with by this time.
Anyway, here are a few screens to share. The characters were designed by my daughter, while the backgrounds are made by me - mostly based on photos I did in my area.
Do we have a topic for progress? Do we post progress or game logs? It’s rather motivating, I believe.
For me, well, this is my second game jam in my life, finished the other this year, even though I’m a man in my middle 40s. Always found making comics and writing fiction easier, until I stumbled across GB Studio and made two Game Boy games and then adapted one of my comics to this medium.
Anyway, I’m working on a visual novel with only minor choice possibilities. It falls within the comic aesthetic with distinct manga influences - partially due to the limitation of the Game Boy medium, partially because I like it this way.
And here is a screen from the game - you probably grasp the idea of a MacGuffin. It is, in way. A plot device. Share your own progress?
I like the pace and the level of difficulty which is not too high. And I like the art, especially the squirrel animation very much.
Occasionally the squirrel would come through the walls (eg, dropping from up high) and then there is this brief moment of being stuck, but it happens like once a level at most.
Europa rescue! is a space station repair mission simulator with some point-and-click mechanics.
The game is probably PG-13 because Georgian cognac is mentioned as a recurring joke.
All the GB Studio works and imagery is by me, except for two drawing of a hamster by my daughter. Additional credit in the end title for dialog fonts and player sprite inspiration.

Well, that one was confusing - first of all entering Panonia would swap player icon into EVA suit, which was a dirty leftover. Second - leaving Panonia would throw the player back to EVA day actually. I missed it, as I didn’t enter Panonia during the test phase.
It is all repaired now. A single advice from the creator, finding hamster before Day 06 plays much more naturally. In fact, it’s best to search for it as soon as the main modules are powered ;)
A working version is uploaded. Thanks again for the input!
Oh man, that was… Kinda like Mazovia depressurisez. I was optimizing the backgrounds for scenes and had to refurbish all the triggers, but Mazovia has like 4 separate scenes on the level and one was left behind. I have just tested and uploaded the repaired version and it should work properly.
I think should add you as a beta tester to the credits :D
