The Inbetween Frames aren't working for me

I've been tinkering to try to fix it, and I figured out that if I open it in a windowed mode, that I can start seeing things sometimes if I manually shrink the window.
It was semi responsive
And now I seemed to get it to super specific right size and now I'm able to use it I think?
Edit: Hmmm, it only works in this exact windowed resolution.
If I make it smaller or bigger it freezes and becomes unresponsive again.
I bought the game here, then I downloaded the Windows files to My Documents. Then I extracted the files and tried to start the program.
It opened onto a screen, but it was just black and white and changed my cursor appearance.
