This is exactly what I was looking for! Coming from game engines like Godot, IDEs and all the plugins needed were confusing me. Thank you so much I love it!

Nooo my pet kept on getting into arguments with its friends :(

Hi, I'm a beginner to intermediate programmer who has done a sone game jams in the past 2 years. My main engine is Godot but I can also work with Unity or another engine if necessary.  I have just started school again so I may not be able to dedicate a ton of time to the jam but I'll do as much as I can. If you're interested my discord is Dacks#5654.

I can take credit but I’m not a great artist so it’s all premade assets I found. Interesting that you couldn’t hear the audio, there was some, must have been a bug. Thanks for playing though!

I’m glad you liked the game! I agree, a few people have pointed out the location of the gun UI made it hard to see other parts of the game.

Thanks for playing! I agree that in hindsight putting the reloading UI and ammo UI probably wasn’t the best idea.

I liked the concept of the game however some of the implementation made it a bit hard to play. The controls were rather slippery and unresponsive which made it hard to control the character. The dice face as different powers was cool but I think you could have let the player swap between faces rather than endlessly bashing your head into a pole until you got the right one. Finally, maybe a little UI image or something to indicate what each power does would make it easier to solve the puzzles. I also noticed that you said this is your second game jam so congratulations on making a finished game and good luck in continuing your gamedev journey!

Great game! Clear and understandable tutorial, squishy and responsive UI and sounds and a creative use of dice in the game! I liked how you had to strategic with position depending on the type of die you had. Personally I feel like allowing for more than space of movement could have added some more complexity but, that's more of a preference and I think the game is amazing as it is. Nice job!

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I'm considering maybe working on the game after the jam but we'll see if that actually happens.

As a DM I relate to this. This game is fun and charming. The concept is unique and goes very nicely with the theme. The visuals and sound design are very nice and appealing and I feel that the difficulty is a good amount. Great job!

100% the best use of dice in any game in this game jam hands down. Incredibly creative game with amazing visuals, music and sounds. I have absolutely no critiques for this game, its amazing. Incredible job, I love it!

I just went back to play the game and remembered other things I liked about it. The instructions were all very clear and understandable. I liked how some levels had reused the same layout but had different dice in different locations. Also the skip level button was much appreciated :)

I was indeed rolling dice on a chill afternoon. I don't normally like puzzle games but this one had just the right difficulty to keep me entertained without being frustrating. The chill vibes also did help me keep calm and think things through. Also, hate menus as well. Nice job!

One of the most unique uses of dice I've seen so far. This game is polished and fun and does what it's trying to do perfectly imo. My only complaint is the timer is really short and making it a little bit longer might have made the game easier. Regardless I was really impressed with this game, amazing job!

Uh... interesting game? I'll call it unique and wacky. This game was weird and fun however, the dice bouncing mechanic felt kind of unwieldy and it was more trial and error than anything else. Despite that, nice job!

Really polished game with puzzles that are just the right level of difficultly for me! I had a fun time playing this game and it looked really good too! This is also the first game I've seen using the fancade engine. Nice job!

Really cool shooting mechanic! I liked how you have to wait for the die to come back and the variety of attacks forces you to improvise on the fly. It feels like there are a lot of enemies and it felt like at a certain point there wasn't really much you could do. Also I personally felt that the sound effects were a little to... gentle? I think some juicier sound effects and maybe some screen shake and particle could have made the game feel better to play. Despite some of my nitpicks it's a cool game, nice job!

Nice game but man, I thought my dice randomize ammo concept was unique! Honestly though nice game, nice and simple nothing to really complain about except that a bit more polish might have been nice. Good job!

Really neat and well executed turn-based game! The game was super polished and that dice roll was super satisfying! Nice job!

Really neat game! The UI and sound design are super polished, appealing and responsive, I just love the look and feel of this game! The sound is also nice and chill. This impressive that you managed to make such a complicated game in such a short amount of time. I didn't get past the 4th level because I'm bad at puzzles and impatient but, if the rest of the game is like what I saw, I'm sure it's great. Very nice job!

I really like all the effects for this game, it makes it really visually appealing! The jumping felt kind of finnicky though, my jump inputs were sometimes just ignored and jumping off the 1 dice especially was hit or miss. If you work on platformers in the future I would suggest looking into things such as coyote time and jump buffering, both of which can help make your control feel a lot better. Still a neat game though, nice job!

Wow. Just wow. Such a unique and creative mechanic for a game! The presentation with art and sound design were great as well! Definitely the best game I've seen so far!

Neat game! Great art and sound and a very unique and creative use of dice as a mechanic. Also, bonus points for not have the word "dice" in your title!

Such a charming game! I really liked the vibe of the game as well as the art, the dice rolls very also very satisfying when you dealt damage.

Some feedback:

  • It took me some time to realize you could use 3 dice on a turn, it might have been nice for dialogue that tells you whose turn it is
  • I kind of wished that the area was a bit bigger, the default size was a bit smaller and the movement was a bit faster
  • Adding a mini description of the dice when you hover over them might have been nice I often forgot which dice did what

Despite those small problems I had with the game I really enjoyed playing it, I could tell there was a lot of effort put into the game and that you guys had fun making it. Nice job!

Really liked the art and thought the concept was interesting but sadly after my turn ended I just couldn't move or do anything.

I like the art style and I also liked the implementation of rolling dice for ammo (it actually feels kinda similar to what I did for my game but in 3D). However, as some of the other comments have pointed it it was rather laggy and buggy which made it hard to play.

Simple, fun and nice graphics. What more could you ask for? Just wish the dice animation at the start was a little bit quicker.

I really loved the art for the game and the game itself was pretty intuitive. Personally, I kind of wished that the dice animations were a little faster and that perhaps you could have a bit more influence over the battles as they were happening. I still had fun playing the game and kept finding myself retrying after I died to get a little farther! Also the d4 as the mouse was a nice touch.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree that there are a some aspects that could have been improved if I had more time to work on it but you know how game jams are... Also thanks for playing!

I'm glad you liked my game and I don't think you need to be jealous either, I just played your game and thought it was very fun as well. Also thanks for pointing out the problem with the location of the gun on the screen, I feel like maybe I should have moved it or made it easier to tell what type of ammo you have. Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing my game, I'm glad you liked it! There is actually a score system and the spawn rate is supposed to increase however, I don't think either of those features were very noticeable in the game. I also agree that there wasn't really any objective and I wish I could have had more time to add that.

Wow! Thank you so much!

Thanks glad you liked it!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks for playing! Sorry about the platforms, I think a lot of people found them confusing.

I'm glad you enjoyed our game!

Thanks!

Thanks for playing! Those are all good suggestions for controls! I'll keep those tips in mind for future platformers.

glad you enjoyed it :)

Thanks bro
