Can't wait to see this finished! I was just getting into and everything. The use of the colour palette is phenomenal. I was worried  that it would be overwhelming, fortunately it creates a really interesting aesthetic. I'll definitely be coming back to play when it's finished

I could definitely see this turning into a whole game in of itself. The scenery and art are beautiful, the music and sound effects are also very pleasant. A shame it ended so soon as I was just getting into the groove of the different attacks and ping-ponging fireballs lol

Had me squinting at my screen when those red and yellow striped presents showed up. 10 levels were enough to get me sucked in; I really wish there were more levels and cute postcards!

I'm so glad you entered this year's jam! I was obsessed with your last game, very intrigued by the Marshmot universe you're creating. Linking to the Marshmot town website is genius and very meta. I'm a huge fan and can't wait to see more Marshmot!

I was shocked to hear voice acting! It feels very rare nowadays to find visual novels with FULL voiced lines. The story and twist were truly shocking too. The music was also very immersive and the art was very well crafted

Love rhythm games, the songs in this were exciting and upbeat. Like some others have said, some note hit feedback would be nice. I felt like the note timing itself was off; but that could either be my internet browser, or that lack of note feedback. Overall a neat little DDR-ish game

This game sucked me in for about an hour or two. I am fuming that I can't beat the final level (after 30 minutes I have just given up). This fuels the difficult platformer player in me and I enjoyed it immensely

This fills the Rhythm Heaven shaped hole in my heart. Your biggest mistake though was adding a leaderboard, because know I'm addicted to making it to the top lol

Such a shame I was boiled before I could continue the conversation. Love the idea of just sitting and talking with a vampire witch, looking around at her cave home. Glad I could help with her potion brewing!

Love the colour palette you used (I'm a bit biased, because I love green lol). Such a simple but well made premise for such a short game. I also really enjoyed the characters and their designs. The endings are quite funny as well!

I had watched a few YouTubers play this a few years ago. This popped up in my itch feed a while ago; so I thought I'd include it in my video! Such a quick but spooky game. Very well done!

A very thought provoking little game here. I had no idea what I was getting into. The different options to choose from (when recounting what might have happened to Laynie) lead to some very interesting outcomes. Regardless of what information you gather, and what ending you receive; it leaves you wondering what the 'truth' of Laynie's situation may very well be. This is a very profound game when you let your brain explore the themes being presented here.

I talk and theorise a bit more about it in my playthrough. This was very fun to experience and it has left a bit of an impression on me.

Really enjoyed this! I'm glad so many people have played it, you folks are getting the praise you deserve. I'm a big fan of eerie games, especially with old school graphics. Reminds me so much of Silent Hill or a Resident Evil game. 

It would be really cool to see you folks make an outwardly scary game. I think your style has a lot of potential there. Not that I wouldn't mind more ethereal and surreal games!

Hi there, I'm Budder! I'm a self taught artist who dabbles in all sorts of hobbies, talents and interests!

A bit about my work:

A lot of my work is often inspired by anime and manga, cartoons and video games. I produce a lot of fanart, as well as original characters for my own works. I'm currently working on a few graphic novels and shorter comics in my free time.

My work tends to lean towards darker genres, such as horror, psychological horror, thriller, dark fantasy or sci-fi. While my strengths lie in abysmal horror, I can also produce work that's on the other end of the spectrum; wholesome, light hearted themes. I love romance, comedy, adventure and fantasy! So long as there's a compelling plot, I can get into just about any story.

A bit about me:

I'm Australian (GMT+8), I love pizza, ramen and the colour green. Thought I'd mention that in case my signature green branding is a bit overwhelming!

I've been an artist for a long time, but only in the past few years did I start sharing my stuff online. I run a YouTube channel and casually manage several social media accounts. I'm also a creator in Cafe Dot; an up-and-coming Discord server dedicated to creating a welcoming community for artists and viewers to share.

I'm heavily inspired by all things Japan. I love manga and anime, and it's inspired me to be the artist I am today. I'm also a big gamer, which is why I also want to get into game development. I have a deep respect for people who make games.

What am I looking for?

I'm looking for paid work, like all artists are these days. I have quite a lot to offer and I would like to share my talents with the game development community. I can work on commission, per piece for art and graphic designs. I can also work an hourly rate or per word for script writing and programming. I'm a very flexible and reasonable person, so I'm willing to discuss and negotiate pricing for my commercial work/s. I'm also looking for fun and interesting stories, ideas and characters to work with. And that's where you folks come in; I'd love to help you take a step closer to your dream game or help you into the direction of achieving your game dev goals!

    • I mainly work in 2D digital art, as well as some minor 2D hand drawn animation.

    • My style is highly adaptive, while my main art style is often inspired by anime or manga.
    • I work in Krita on desktop, and Procreate on iPad.
      • Krita is mainly for animation or larger artworks.
      • Procreate is for casual art and concept art

    • I write short stories in my spare time.
    • I have a robust writing style and an aptitude for pulling narrative ideas out of thin air.
    • I can write in a variety of genres.

    • I've been fiddling with Ren'Py for the last 2 years as a hobby.

    • I have a keen eye for small details and design.
    • I can create logos, banners, GUI assets, promotional art etc.
      • I also use Krita for graphic designs and its vector capabilities, colour profiles and image formats.

As of right now, I have only been involved in the development of a single game. It was for Cafe Dot's first ever game jam. I'm a part of Team BLED, as the programmer, and we made a visual novel called Little Red Ranger.

Enough said

Love the hint worms scattered around the level. The sound design is just amazing. Love love love the worms. I got sucked into the levels very quickly. It's definitely a very thought out game. The visuals are nice. I'll probably come back at some point to finish all the levels off!

Who knew a game about a cute little crustacean, surviving a QnA panel, would turn into a bit of a philosophical game? I loved the animated cutscene at the beginning! A lot of aspects of this game have given me some inspiration for my own VNs in the future. Love the art and the music; very gameboy-ish. I also love the character designs and the overall aesthetic of the game.

Right off the bat, that was pretty fun; once I figured out what I was doing, that is. The art is very wholesome and nice. My only few problems would be that it was a bit difficult remembering all the recipes and having to scroll out of the game to read them. An in game recipe book would be a good add on to the game if you ever plan on expanding it. Also labelled pictures of each food; it was a little confusing as to what some of the foods were meant to be (unless that's just a 'me issue' for not remembering what a pork banh mi looks like).

Super fun and fast paced though! I eventually got a score of 600 after my 5th time playing lol

Love a good old pizza making game. A few critiques though; 1) Either put the tutorial in the game or underneath the game on its itch page. Opening a whole document and reading a bunch of text can be quite off-putting to some people, and not as convenient to some. 2) In game, it was a little confusing as to what pizzas I should be making, until I noticed the penguin in the top left was showing me what the needed ingredients were. At first glance, I thought it was just a food item on the ground. A speech bubble or some clearer indication of the visual instructions would be a good thing to add.

Other than that, once I figured it all out, I can say it was a very neat little game!

That was certainly an overwhelming office experience! The UI and art direction are really good, and the characters are unique. Unfortunately, the lack of a proper tutorial or a pre game walk through made it difficult to understand what exactly was going on. The beginning cutscene also overlaps the start of the game; I think it would make more sense to start the game after the exposition.

The way the hammer pops out of nowhere when bopping the rabbits is so hilarious. I think the option to jump and/or dash would be extremely helpful. The presents don't seem to react with the deer bumping into them, which can lead to getting stuck on them, or rabbits just phasing through them.

A shame you only got as far as you did; that intro was sooo cool, I was ready to dive right into the game! Hopefully once the jam is over, you can expand on it some more and show us those cute little animals!

Loving the limited palette and the gameboy style. A real shame you didn't have time to fix it during the jam. Hopefully you'll tinker with it afterwards and complete it!

Such a shame you folks didn't get to finish the game in time. I really like the music and art you have so far! It's apparent you all had a strong art and music direction. Please, if you ever do, finish this game! It'd be such a waste to let this idea go. The characters look so lively and interesting, and the cafe designs and UI are just so beautiful^^

This is pawsome. Absolutely cathartic to live out my streamer dreams as a cat. I love rhythm games, so this already had my heart when I watched it on the Cafe Dot twitch streams a few days ago. Love the music btw. I also love that you can see the chat live as you play. So many cat puns... I bet those were fun to come up with!^^ I also enjoyed the difficulty progression. I play a lot of rhythm games (I play OSU levels on hard for 'fun') and sometimes you'll find a really ridiculous jump in difficulty; I think it was a perfect increase in this game!

This really reminds me of Hollow Knight; which is a good thing! You folks really nailed down the level design of a metroidvania game. I love the pixel, the music is awesome and I'm intrigued where the story will go. If y'all ever decide to continue on with this game, I'd for sure come back for a second playthrough!

Holy moly; I think I played that for a little tooooo long. That was super addictive (I think I got up to day 71 or something). A cute little final stats screen would be a cool tid bit to add. Also- MATCHA! It's nice to see people incorporate Matcha into their games

I may come back to this game once in a while...

Very cool voxel style! The dynamic lighting was also a nice touch.

However, I'm quite confused as to what the goal of the game is. This game definitely needed a more detailed explanation or a tutorial. I believe the customers may have been bugged, as nothing really indicated what exactly they wanted; and it was unclear what and where any items would be.

It would be nice to see this be worked on and polished more

First off; the music is absolutely banging. Top notch. I also like the addition of a timer on each level; it sets the urgency of the situation at hand. Having a small bar, or a clearer indication, of how much the fire has been extinguished would be very helpful in balancing how much water should be used or conserved.

All in all, it was a very satisfying game to play. It has a lot of potential to be expanded on!

Highly addictive (I may have spent a ridiculous amount of time playing this...)

My high score ended up being 41! Love the art style, the music and the sound effects. I also love the small touches when you upgrade the hospital; actually showing the upgrades in the hospital, instead of just forcing the player to use their imagination, like some games do. Also the ghost floating about when a plush dies is just(πーπ)

Could definitely see this being a great game to expand upon with more upgrades, plushies and possibly levels

Oh to be an office cat, filing my little papers...

Beyond adorable. When I read the instructions for the papers needing signing, I was expecting a stamp; I gasped when I realised the ink pad  was for the cat's paw! Something I also particularly enjoyed was just right clicking the cycle through the cats. Once I got into the zone, it all just flowed so nicely. All the filing sounds where also very satisfying~

10/10 would hire these felines to file my papers
