Welp you didn't lie when you said it was the hardest game. It definitely took me a while before I manage to start defeating some of these machine gun flowers.

Had fun though, and the music is really cool.

I think the game needs ways to boost yourself a bit like droppable buffs maybe from killed flowers as you progress.

Other than that, great job!

Thank you for trying out our game, I am so glad you had fun with it. We do agree as well about the lack of variety and would have been the first thing to focus on if we had more time to spare.

By the way you are spot on about the flower tips being their vulnerable spot.

Thank you for the constructive criticism, the plan was indeed to improve upon the weapon, adding new weapons and even unlockable weapon special attacks.

As for the increase of difficulty, yes, as time goes by, spawn rate increases as well making it more and more difficult

Unfortunately I feel the experience was a bit "empty", could really benefit from a few more gameplay mechanics but the concept itself is interesting

Glad you had fun with it and yes there does seem to be a couple cheese locations through the level unfortunately

Very nice game! I like the idea of increased accuracy while in movement. though I found it to be very hard to stay at an optimal crosshair size

I quite enjoyed the game! Puzzles were well made and had few fun "Aha!" moments out of it. Really nice

I like the freshness of the level changes each run. A bit saddened by the lack of music and I think displaying both the water AND the trees as score metrics was a bit confusing (as they are linked, 1 tree = 11 waters right?). Other than that nice game! Good job!

I was really excited to see what would come out of a rhythm game within the "bloom" theme, I love the idea. However I think that the lack no music or beat to play in rhythm with takes away from that idea.

Would love to see where you could take it in the future if you decide to update the game.

One of my favorite spins on the theme so far! Really fun! Though it took me multiple tries to realize what I had to do, would have benefitted from a slower start maybe.  Nevertheless amazing idea and well executed too. I had a lot of fun with it

Nicely done! Good job

Thank you for your feedback!
Headshots require you to aim for the flower on dangling above enemies, as for spores they act as an instakill AoE allowing you to down multiple enemies at once if planned right. I do agree we could've made it clearer.

I am happy you had fun with it, thank you for playing!

I am so glad you enjoyed it! As for the spores, timed right they one-shot any nearby enemy  at the time of blooming

Thanks for playing!

This was a really wholesome 10 minutes experience. Loved the ending as well. Such an original spin on the theme as well!

Your games never disappoint! Very calming experience Angela, thank you

A job well done indeed! The burrowing felt really smooth

Loved the burrowing controls! Very bouncy :D

I found the story to be interesting and in accordance with the theme. I only think it would have benefitted from more details in the second phase and better placed event tiles sometimes.

Keep going though!

This game was a short but amazing experience that will stay with me for a while..!

I just can't stop theorizing about the ending though.

Amazing job!

As Adam said! Very satisfying graphic design! You're getting gud mate!

I really like the idea behind the looping iterations and the obliviousness of the main character to it but it felt like it needed to be explored waay more.

Still had fun though and hoping for updates in the future.

I actually really enjoyed myself playing the game.. particularly liked make funny unreasonable choices though to be honest so I would've really liked more of these x)

(1 edit)

Thanks for the review ! I am tweaking the difficulty to make it more accessible to players but its taking longer than expected with my day job on the side

Thank you for the feedback and suggestions !  I was thinking of having many levels with different bosses that are killable (hitting them like in the movie) and I like your maze idea a lot. I didn't have enough time to have a decent level design within' the gamejam time limit but I will hopefully come back to developing these as an update.

I enjoy the feedback !

I agree, I may have overdone it on the difficulty side of things, I am experimenting with tweaking that at the moment and may update the game soon to be a little easier and longer.

Thank you for the feedback !

It is actually my first finished and published game ever so its kind of difficult to grasp the concept of difficulty balance yet. Its really useful to me to know how players like yourself did. Thank you so much for that.

Visually, it is really pleasing and its really fun.

Would definitely be more into it if the controls were more polished. I had too many slashes going through him with no effect and it started becoming frustrating after a while.

We talked on discord on the first day of the jam, and I coulnd't wait to try your game the past 10 days. And I gotta say, I really do like what you got going for your game right now. The visuals look good, from what I can hear already, the music selection seems promising.

But I got to say, I fail to see the rythmic accept of the game.. or are you taking a pure classical shooter approach ?

Thanks for the feedback.

I understand what you mean and I agree on that point. I will tweak the increase in speed and figure out the best values for a better experience.
