Idunno how these were missed during testing, but I appreciate you helping bring them to my attention! the kernel panic in the first dungeon has been patched out, and I'll be looking into this new issue next!

I have found one more thing, super minor - if you select "Inn" option but then you want to back out by selecting "Not now", you are transported to the inn anyway ๐Ÿ˜„.

I took care of the inn selection bug quickly, but I'm trying to track down the reason you were softlocked at the parlor. do you remember the conversation you were having with the parlor NPC when you returned to the parlor? I tried to replicate the issue you had, but it didn't happen for me! any additional information you could provide would be super appreciated~

Sure thing! Fortunately I have save state before this happens, so I am able to replicate that ๐Ÿ˜. See screenshots for whole conversation that happens before. I can also share save state itself if it will be of any help to you

okay! that narrows it down! had you turned anything in to the parlor before this interaction happened? by which I mean, did you find any items in the dungeon that caused this similar conversation before? thanks again!

Yes, after first trip to dungeons I have turned in some artifacts. AFAIR I got similar conversation then.

I have tested it once again, on new version, using my previous save state. Bale gives me Apprentice Robes now, but after that whole dialog with them is looped endlessly ๐Ÿ˜…

so close, yet so far. back to the bug hunt for me! 

edit: I hate that you'd need to start clean, but I hope it's not the reloading of a previous version save state causing things to loop or error in this instance. I know that isn't always compatible with roms being updated. I used to try to save state my progress working on a Pkmn Yellow rom-hack, and that never worked how I hoped... ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm gonna tackle it again and make sure it runs correctly on my end, just in case, so there may be yet another upload soon..!

That also happens when I start fresh safe file, go to dungeons, beat the boss, grab the egg, the skeleton doll, a whole bunch of artifacts from chests and exit dungeons and go to parlor. First, I give Bale an egg, then dialog is looped.

Other things that I noticed:

  • When I go to save crystal room in dungeon, selecting "Not now" has same effect as with selecting Inn before fix - it proceeds to save anyway
  • Sometimes navigation arrow doesn't point to room that I had come from. See screenshots - on first I'm in save crystal room and arrow points to the north - but I could only come from south since this is a dead end. When I go south, arrow still points north, but if I want to return to save crystal room I must go south again ๐Ÿ˜…
  • When trying to open chest, occasionally it opens after just 2 inputs when 3 are needed according to the bar displayed on the top of the screen

Yes, I assumed that it might be because of save state, so I started fresh and got the same result, unfortunately. Best of luck with debugging, please let me know if I can be of any help! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Also, don't worry about those bugs, I'm a programmer myself (in a bit different field though - webdev) and I know the struggle perfectly well ๐Ÿ˜‚. There is ALWAYS something that you miss during testing, that's just the way things are ๐Ÿ˜
