Methods In the present study, we investigated the effects of a 6-session group-based mindfulness-based intervention in police officers (n = 82) on self-report measures, using a quasi-experimental design consisting of a within-group 6-week baseline period; pre-test, 6-week intervention; and post-test, 6-week follow-up. This article deals with the phenomenon of overregularization in a language already extremely regu... more This article deals with the phenomenon of overregularization in a language already extremely regular, i.e. Esperanto, in children who are learning it as their mother tongue together with one or two other national languages. It consists of an analysis of the diaries kept by Esperanto-speaking parents, tracing the development of five children who were brought up speaking Esperanto as one of their two or three mother-tongues. The children were all of European origin, and their ages ranged from one to five years. The different forms of overregularization have been subdivided into three levels of complexity based on the number and type of morpheme compositions used, and the degree of semantic elaboration. Detailed comments are provided on the forms and meanings of the various examples representing each level, showing the correlation between the age of the children and the growing complexity of the forms. Due gruppi di alunni di una scuola media italiana, comparabili tra loro per molti aspetti, hanno ... more Due gruppi di alunni di una scuola media italiana, comparabili tra loro per molti aspetti, hanno preso parte ad un esperimento sugli effetti dell’apprendimento dell’esperanto relativamente alle loro abilità metalinguistiche. Il gruppo che ha seguito un corso di esperanto per un intero anno scolastico ha avuto dei risultati migliori in test di abilità metalinguistiche sviluppati e validati indipendentemente da questo esperimento rispetto al gruppo di controllo. Pertanto, i risultati dell’esperimento sono del tutto in linea con le ipotesi prefissate, e cioè che l’insegnamento dell’esperanto avrebbe avuto un’influenza positiva sulle abilità metalinguistiche degli alunni. During the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteering sessions shifted online. The aim of this study was to compare the value of online and in-person ICSM-TBH volunteering for volunteers and school pupils. Methods Undergraduate university students at Imperial College London (medicine can be taken as a first degree in the UK) who volunteered with ICSM-TBH between 2019 and 22 were invited to complete an anonymous online questionnaire evaluating their experiences of volunteering online and in-person through Likert-scale questions. O presente trabalho incidiu sobre a análise de um conjunto de crónicas humorísticas e satíricas d... more O presente trabalho incidiu sobre a análise de um conjunto de crónicas humorísticas e satíricas da autoria de Ricardo Araújo Pereira, publicadas entre Dezembro de 2011 e Março de 2013, na revista de grande informação Visão, com o objetivo de isolar um conjunto de recorrências enunciativo-pragmáticas no discurso do autor. Das recorrências identificadas, foram selecionadas para este trabalho aquelas que mais de perto se relacionam com o tema ‘modalização e géneros discursivos’, tais como certos marcadores de modalização, epistémica, deôntica e apreciativa, usados na construção do tom irónico. Outras recorrências, como a intertextualidade e interdiscursividade, e a invocação de ‘vozes’ de outros, voltadas, ora para a validação do seu próprio discurso, ora para a desqualificação do discurso do Outro, dão cumprimento à dimensão pragmática de sátira das suas crónicas.
