The paper presents the parameters concerning floristic, phytosociological and ethnobotanical studies carried out by means of surveys in the type section of Caatinga vegetation of shrubs and trees located on the Site Boa Ventura, rural municipality of Serra da Raiz Paraíba. Was employed to survey the plot method, establishing within the area surveyed 10 plots of 10 x 10m (100m2), totaling 1000 m2. In each plot were considered for the purpose of data collection all subjects of the extract of shrubs and trees that met the inclusion criteria: diameter at breast height (DBH) ≥ 3 cm and a height ≥ 2 m, excluding lianas and bromeliads. For the ethnobotanical study was conducted semistructured interviews with questions applying to 10 families residing in the Boa Ventura Ranch, Serra da Raiz, PB.
