Statemen tesis ini sekaligus membantah pendapat-pendapat para ulama’ dan mufassir seperti al-Shat}ibi>, Rashi>d Rid{a>, Mus}t}afa> al-Mara>ghi>, dan lainnya yang menentang adanya penafsiran dengan pendekatan sains khususnya pada ayat-ayat yang terkait dengan ruh. Mereka beralasan bahwa, Quran tidak datang membawa ilmu pengetahuan, namun hukum Islam telah diselwengkan dengan hal-hal yang batil, sehingga terlalu memaksakan hal-hal yang tidak terkait masuk ke dalam penafsiran tanpa ada bukti yang konkrit. Sebaliknya, tesis ini mendukung pendapat para ulama’ dan mufassir seperti al-Ra>zi>, Zaglu>l al-Najja>r, M. Quraish Shihab, dan lainnya yang menyatakan bahwa memahami Quran dengan metode yang luas bukan berarti melemahkan keontetikan Quran sebagai wahyu Tuhan, namun hal demikian justru menguatkan akan tujuannya sebagai s}a>lih likull zama>n wa maka>n. Kajian ini berorientasi seputar penafsiran ayat-ayat Quran tentang ruh dalam tafsir ‘ilmi> karya T{ant}a>wi Jauhari. Sekaligus menganalisa penafsirannya, sehingga dapat diketahui apakah memang benar penafsirannya hanya sebatas memaksakan kaidah-kaidah ilmiah ke dalam penafsirannya, seperti yang telah dilontarkan beberapa ulama’ yang tidak setuju dengan tafsir ‘ilmi>. This focuses on Laleh Bakhtiars Perspektif on violence against women in the Quran surah 4:34. The word wadhribuhunna in the surah does not only mean to hit but there are a lot of meanings of it, however, her interpretation of Qur'an got several critics. This surah can be interpreted upon the perspective on social and fenimism context in the relation between husband and wife in Indonesia and how its defferent in the Islamic Country. This is a literate study that will employ a library research methodology as well to examine and analyze the Islam position in general on the surah vis a vis women beating practises conducted by the husband based on the surah. This can be considered as a hard evidence of how the Quran should not be interpreted in a physical context alone but rather in contextual perspective.

However, according to KH. Bahauddin Nur Salim (Gus Baha'), this understanding needs to be improved, as he conveyed in the Darusan Menara Timur study on May 29, 2019 and published on Youtube. This article will outline the study with content analysis methods using reconstruction theory. with science on the Qur’ānic interpre... more This paper investigates the impact of Islam’s relationship with science on the Qur’ānic interpretations given by Indonesian scholars. The discussion goes further to conclude their epistemology and approaches. It continues by examining the government’s role in providing a scientific Qur’ānic exegesis and several Indonesian institutions that deal with Islam and science integration in interpreting the Qur’ān. This study employs a qualitative research methodology by investigating all possible references and inducing the compiled data into sections based on predetermined research objectives. This article demonstrates that scientific Qur’ānic exegesis has grown in Indonesia since the 1960s and has been produced by Indonesian scholars in many works using various methodologies. Most of those works involved the integration of religion (Islam) and science. However, some of their epistemology tends to Islamisation, Qur’ānic justification or dealing with the concept of Islamisation of knowledge. The government uses scientific Qur’ānic exegesis to develop science and technology and propagate policies related to many sectors.

This research is a manuscript research by Sheikh Muhammad Mahfudz al-Termasi Pacitan which explain / sharh{ the book of mifta> h} al-Tafsi> r or what is called Alfiyah Ilm Tafsi> r written by Nigerian scholar named Syeih Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Uthman ibn Salih} al-Niji> ri>. The book is a manuscript that is still in the form of Sheikh Mahfudz Termas's handwriting, this study uses a philology method that will describe the manuscript and analyze it using several contemporary Qur'anic study theories. This research shows the concept of a unique and systematic ulumul Qur'an offered by Kyai Mahfudz Termas, and is able to provide relevant offered in ulumul Qur'an learning at PTKI.
