The GLOBE Soil Moisture Project (see http://www.hwr.arizona.edu/globe/sci/SM/SMC/) is a subset of the overall Program, and aims to mobilize GLOBE-participating students worldwide to collect near-surface (i.e. 0-5 cm and 10 cm below ground surface) gravimetric soil moisture data twice a year.
