This paper deals with the study of ultra-wideband (UWB) microstrip bandpass filter (BPF) using fo... more This paper deals with the study of ultra-wideband (UWB) microstrip bandpass filter (BPF) using four strip elements with defected ground structure (DGS) incorporation. Here, the DGS is applied for enhancing the passband bandwidth response, S-parameters, as well as for size miniaturization. In the design process, some parametric studies of DGS such as changing the length of DGS, width of DGS, and number of DGS slot are performed to optimize the microstrip BPF in achieving the optimum bandwidth response and S-parameters. Microstrip BPF is deployed on a 0.8mm thick FR4 epoxy dielectric substrate with the dimension of 27.4mm × 22mm. The simulation result shows that the proposed microstrip BPF has bandwidth response of 4.55GHz ranges from the frequency of 1.4GHz to 5.95GHz.

One of them is by involving defected ground structure (DGS) into the structure of microwave filter. In this paper, a wideband microstrip bandpass filter (BPF) is developed using a combination of two kinds of DGS for bandwidth improvement. The DGS consists of four rectangular slots and a rectangular ring slot which are incorporated at the groundplane on the bottom side of filter. The proposed microstrip BPF configured by four elements with tapered feeding lines is designed and fabricated on an FR4 epoxy dielectric substrate. From the characterization result, the realized microstrip BPF with DGS which has a compact size of of 27.4 mm × 22 mm could produce the working bandwidth of 4.097 GHz in the frequency range from 1.472 GHz to 5.569 GHz.

Dengan demikian, dibuatlah sebuah sistem dengan menggunakan konsep Internet of Things (IoT), sehingga penyiraman tanaman yang dilakukan secara remote dan penghematan air dapat terwujud. Sistem terdiri dari sebuah mikrokontroler NodeMCU dengan aplikasi Telegram sebagai antarmuka ke pengguna. Saat ini, para kader Posyandu Anyelir di Kelurahan Pancoran Mas Depok mempunyai permasalahan penting terkait dengan mutu layanan yaitu dalam kegiatan pemantauan kualitas gizi balita seperti pengukuran massa tubuh dan tinggi badan. Kegiatan tersebut dilakukan secara bertahap dan masih manual menggunakan timbangan yang digantungkan dengan kain atau timbangan konvesional dan alat meteran secara manual untuk mengukur tinggi badan. In this paper, the design of an ultra-wideband microstrip bandpass filter used the defected ground structure (DGS) method by adding a circular slot to the groundplane. The addition of the circular slot was carried out to improve the value of S parameter (return loss and insertion loss) from the initial filter design without a circular slot. In the simulation process, optimization was carried out by changing the value of filter component parameters such as patch length and thickness and circular slot width. The simulation results showed that the microstrip bandpass filter could pass frequencies in the range of 1.4 GHz to 5.7 GHz with the bandwidth response of 4.3 GHz. In this paper, the characteristic of wideband microstrip bandpass filter (BPF) involving defected ground structure (DGS) is studied and analyzed through its equivalent circuit. The wideband microstrip BPF used for the study is implemented using a double-sided FR4 epoxy dielectric substrate and composed of four strip elements on the top side with some slot elements as DGS at the groundplane. Meanwhile, the equivalent circuit is developed based on geometrical structure of each filter element and performed using EM & Circuit simulator. From the result, it shows that the proposed equivalent circuit has good performance in bandwidth response, return loss, and insertion loss compared to the 3D simulation result. The performance of wideband microstrip BPF produced by the equivalent circuit has the bandwidth response of 4.8 GHz in the frequency range of 1.35 GHz to 6.15 GHz.

E-Shaped patch microstrip antenna is obtained by modifying a rectangular patch mikrostrip antenna. The results on this research have succesfully compared the design and simulation antenna parameters between rectangular patch and E-shaped patch. It uses FR-4 as a substrate and works on 5500 MHz frequency for WiFi. The feeding method using a feedline method. The E-shaped patch microstrip antenna has a VSWR value of 1.04 and the antenna return loss is -33.73 dB, better than the rectangular patch. The gain of E-shaped patch is increased by almost 2.5 times and the bandwidth is increased by 10.18% compared to the rectangular patch. The radiation pattern of the two patches has the same directional radiation pattern.
