Carabobo is the state of main industrial infrastructure, economic and population growth, and the seismic microzoning studies made by the Carabobo University they evidenced the housing infrastructure vulnerability of municipality Los Guayos, municipality Libertador, and San Jose Parish of Valencia City; where, historically, earthquakes, floods and landslides events have been registered due to rains frequency and the high freatic level , which softens the ground and speed up the wave in case of earthquake.
Investigations carry out by engineering school of the Central University of Venezuela, they have revealed the fragility of educational structures due to the occurrence of earthquakes from 4 to 7 Richter. According to information from Ministry of popular power for education there are 1671 schools at very high seismic hazard and 17.844 at low high threat, scattered throughout the national territory, with the probability that an important number of these schools where placed on Carabobo territory.
While engineering intervention Work is being carried out to reduce the vulnerability of schools infrastructure and the consequent impact of threats, we propose a contextualized education program for the prevention and mitigation of natural, technological and anthropic risks to anticipate threats, reduce social vulnerability, and respond and recover in the face of events that exceed the levels of an acceptable risk.
