Peter Linenthal
I collect coins of the Kushans and related groups. I am also a children's book illustrator and have illustrated about a dozen books, check out peterlinenthal.com .
I wrote and illustrated 'Jaya's Golden Necklace: A Silk Road Tale', published by Wisdom Publications in October 2015. It's the first children's book I know of about the creation of the first Buddha image, and the story of a young girl who discovers powers she didn't know she had on a journey with her father in the Kushan Empire. Just as we learned about medieval Europe from fairytales, children today would get a taste of ancient Asia from this story.
I direct a neighborhood history group in San Francisco, the Potrero Hill Archives Project. You can check that out at potreroarchives.com .
