This manuscript considers a new approach to Simplifying Handwritten Characters Recognition based ... more This manuscript considers a new approach to Simplifying Handwritten Characters Recognition based on simulation of the behavior of schools of fish and flocks of birds, called the Particle Swarm Optimization Approach (PSOA). We present an overview of the proposed approaches to be optimized and tested on a number of handwritten characters in the experiments. Our experimental results demonstrate the higher degree of performance of the proposed approaches. It is noted that the PSOA in general generates an optimized comparison between the input samples and database samples which improves the final recognition rate. Experimental results show that the PSOA is convergent and more accurate in solutions that minimize the error recognition rate.

Recognition of handwritten characters of Arabic alphabet set is an important area of research. The work on recognition of Handwritten Isolated Arabic Characters (HIAC) is still an open research problem and it has numerous applications. Machine reading of optically scanned text is usually called optical Character recognition (OCR). In this paper we present an OCR for Handwritten Isolated Arabic Characters. Basic Characters are recognized by Freeman chain code. The proposed method obtains the contour of the character and then generates a Freeman Chain Code for contoured character. The obtained Freeman chain code is unique for handwritten isolated characters. The present method is based on template matching to recognize handwritten printed isolated Arabic characters. It was trained and validated on 200 images (consisting of 7400 Arabic characters written by 18 writers). Our experimentation observed the overall recognition rate is 95%. It is carried out in order to improve the rate and the performance of an Arabic handwritten word recognition system. The proposed system has been implemented and tested on Matlab R2008b environment

This manuscript presents a method for off-line handwritten isolated Arabic alphabets recognition ... more This manuscript presents a method for off-line handwritten isolated Arabic alphabets recognition using an Efficient Technique Fuzzy logic (FL). This method has been avoided the segmentation operation to recognition the alphabets. At first, several shape for every handwritten isolated Arabic alphabet which is stored in square arrays. The alphabet to be recognized is matched with each pattern and the best match pattern is considered using Fuzzy logic techniques. Several binary alphabets have been used for testing the alphabets (Alif , Baa , Haa , Dal , Raa, Seen ,Sad , T'ta, Ain , Faa , Lam , Mem , Hah , Waw ,Yaa) to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques. The Fuzzy logic technique has been implemented and tested on Matlab environment. We were tested on (41 groups for the twenty eight Arabic alphabets) and a 96.5% recognition success rate was obtained.

In this architecture, a model of multi-agents learning environments consists of: the domain model, the communication model and the user model. They contain all the domain knowledge of the target application and the user's profiles. Reconceptualizing the computer as a constructionist medium increases the computer's educational value by allowing the development and support of communities of users. The communication model facilitates communication via more conventional media, but also enables the communication of ideas through the creation and sharing of computational objects (e.g. agents and analysis tools). An agent appears to be appropriate for the implementation of the major functions of intelligent training, support and teaching environments by providing an environment for the definition and sharing of computational components, through the World Wide Web.

We present an overview of the proposed approaches to be optimized and test on a number of handwritten characters in the experiments, as well. Experimental results show the higher degree performance of the proposed approaches. It is noted that a new approach in general generates an optimized comparison between the input samples and database samples which, improves the last recognition rate. Experimental results show that PSO algorithm outperforms ACO algorithm in convergence speed, coping with high dimensional spaces and straightforwardness with minimizing error recognition rate.

This paper proposes a new configuration design to the single mode fiber Raman amplifier using a multi-objective bat algorithm. The main aim of the proposed method is to preserve the values of noise figure and ripple of the amplifier as low as possible while keeping the values of laser wavelength and the amplifier powers are high. The simulation results show that increasing the number of iterations is required, which would result in a flat gain spectrum with a considerable enhancement in the noise figure and minimal gain ripple that reaches to less than 0.18 DB.

In this paper, we present an Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithm is a class of an evolutionary optimi... more In this paper, we present an Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithm is a class of an evolutionary optimization technique with three types of classifier combinations using different geometrics' shape for the recognition of the plant leaves. Fish Swarm Algorithm is applied on Fourier descriptors to get optimum weights that maximize the recognition rate. Fourier descriptors are invariant to rotation, translation or scaling. These optimum Fourier descriptors are then used in process of recognition. The obtained results achieve a recognition rate of 98.75% for Log of Euclidean Distance classifier. Results show that our proposed system advances object recognition with highly effective.

In this paper, speaker recognition system is optimized based on one of Swarm Intelligence Algorit... more In this paper, speaker recognition system is optimized based on one of Swarm Intelligence Algorithm called Modified Shuffle Frog Leaping Algorithm (MSFLA) with Cepstral analysis and the Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) feature extraction approach. In this algorithm Search has been applied on speaker recognition systems and voice. Thus by applying this algorithm, the process of speaker recognition is optimized by a fitness function by matching of voices being done on only the extracted optimized features produced by the MSFLA. The recognition accuracy for various noise conditions (white Gaussian noises, car-noises and B-noises) with same dataset are 94.02%, 96.78% and 84.33%, respectively, using a Hybrid model of MFCC/MSFLA.

Abstract: In recent years, there has been a huge development in many different scientific fields in our contemporary world. One of these field is (Information system technology) which has many applications in our life. A health service is one of important application of this field. In this paper we have built a unit medical diagnosis which has been used to diagnose diabetes via propagation Back Artificial Neural Network. This unit has been tested for 250 random persons (We main by random persons is the persons that have diabetes and not). Of the 250 samples of test data, 143 (57.2%) were diabetic cases and the remaining 107 (42.8%) were nondiabetic cases. The most significant feature of the results was accurate and prompt.

The invariant to rotation, translation or scaling DWT is used for extracting some features, and CSA performs the recognition task. Experimental results show that the proposed for all types of Iraqi traffic signs can give a system highly recognition rate and lower processing computation time of 98%, and 0.3 second, respectively.
