ABSTRACT: The unrestrained use of natural resources has result a high degree of environmental degradation causing loss in the ecosystem natural dynamics. In this context, this study aimed to verify the potential of nucleation techniques use in degraded areas of Fazenda Cachoeira de São Porfírio, Várzea town, semiarid region of Paraíba state. Were used dry artificial perches and brushwood windrowing for the training of the nuclei attraction scattering fauna seedlings. The experiment was evaluated for 12 months. Birds used the perches during the trial period, increasing the seed rain of the area. The brushwood bunching simulates artificial shelters for fauna and microorganisms, act on the decomposition of this material. There was forming material decomposition of the windrows with an original volume reduction and adding organic matter to the soil. Were accounted 125 seeds especially of Jatropha curcas L. (pinhão manso) and Cnidosculus queercifolius Pohl (faveleira) in the collectors placed under the perches, indicating that the techniques have provided the visit of birds on site. Therefore, such nucleation techniques worked in the increase on seed rain and increased content of organic matter in the soil and, used together, favored the natural succession and the reintroduction of plants and animals in degraded area.
