The forces of contraction and expansion about the seasons in tourism behave like an imaginary mechanical tourist spring. The article discusses tourist activities in Bulgaria from 2009 to 2020, predictions concerning Covid-19, and tendencies expected in the last quarter of 2021 till the end of 2022 on data published by the National Statistics Institute and Eurostat. The system's dynamics observed before the pandemic crisis in tourism resembles the action of a mechanical spring that shrinks and extends, and we can empirically analyze the process of tourism activities. The study of this elasticity process of the system allows establishing a model with positive characteristics of the dynamics and further dealing with problems, better clarity in analysis and modeling of prognosis based on the potential of an imaginary mechanical spring concerning the possibility of the tourist destination.

In 2020, the European Commission proposed a new framework of the EU’s enlargement policy, justified by the deficiencies of the Bulgarian and Romanian EU membership. This article provides empirical evidence from the accession negotiation process that Bulgaria and Romania didn’t belong to a common group, separated from the other post-communist societies, which joined the EU in 2004. Our analysis identified several patterns of accession, distinguished by the number of negotiation chapters closed and the pace at which that was accomplished, which are counter-intuitive. They all fall under the rule: exceptional final outcomes are achieved by countries, which accelerated to the greatest extent. The acceleration matters a lot but it didn’t count in the Fifth enlargement. This ought to be remedied in the case of the Western Balkan, since any discrepancy between a country’s performance and its political evaluation hampers the credibility of EU accession, which in turn diminishes pro-European...

It is considered to what extent the probability of extermination of the new working-active generation, expressed in the authors' research in 2015, was realized in the period of the descending phase of the generation cycle of Simon Kuznets in the period 2008-2020. For this purpose, three indicators are studied – demographic, social, and economical. The thesis is that the extermination will most likely occur in 2035-2043 when risk factors are superimposed both from the descending phase of the next generation cycle of Simon Kuznets and from the ascending phase of the US military budget.

In the paper are presented the most important results of successfully defended three-year university project entitled "Clusters of Capitalism (Typology and Dynamics of Capitalist Economies)", Research grant SRA 21.03-2/2009. The motives, methodology and methods of the study are discussed. The results of clustering are presented. The resulting typology of types of capitalism is analyzed. KEY WORDS: cluster analysis, types of capitalism, classical Marxism, liberal capitalism, state capitalism, basic indicators of clustering JEL: B51, C23, C38, N1, N3, N7, O1, P10, P20 1. Motives, methodology and methods of study Investigation of the types of capitalism using cluster analysis is a new problem field in the social sciences. Our orientation toward this new problem field is mainly due to methodological prejudice of Prof. Georgi Najdenov to classical Marxism. Official science supports the presumption that it is unacceptable "socialist" economies to be considered as a par...

We present briefly the project "Clusters of Capitalism. Typology and Dynamics of Capitalist Economies", continued in 2014 under the title "Identification and Comparative Analysis of the Types of State Capitalism and the Types of Liberal Capitalism (Based on Cluster Analysis)." It is a study in which for the first time the typology of the capitalist way of production has been done inductively, not deductively, and with the application of modern statistical methods. We examine the economic and educational characteristics of one of the twelve revealed distinctive types of capitalism in the twentieth century, namely the First cluster of the developing countries.

The study considers the risks for Bulgaria that are the result of the bad practices of the ruling class to „accelerate“ the processes of concentration and centralisation of capital through the destabilization and destruction of the nation. These risks are considered with reference to the phase from Kuznets generation cycle in which the Bulgarian economy is at the moment as well as the increased probability for ravage of the present new working generation. The global risks are mostly connected with the specifics of the development of the world economy and the processes of translocation of the world trade hub from the USA to China in particular; with the increasing vassalage of the European and, in particular, the Bulgarian political elite from the American Anglo-Saxon and American Jewish elites. The overlay of local and global risks during the second decade of the 21st century is considered as well. - See more at: http://yearbook.unwe.bg/bg/journalissues/article/8522#sthash.N97BLPTx....

The next stages of EU integration in terms of deepening or in terms of enlargement imply the need for reliable knowledge about the compatibility of national cases either to enhance cohesion or to promote further Europeanization where it has been lagging so far. This is why measuring the sociopolitical differences between countries experiencing EU integration is a vital premise for maximizing the Union’s capacity for enlargement. The cognitive challenge is to find a way to depict the national societies comprehensively, and in detail, whilst at the same time providing a basis for comparing the different countries. Arguably, the current approach of the European Commission has proved insufficient in providing strong analytical instruments to reflect the specific national contexts and potentials for European integration. In this paper we propose a new, complex quantitative approach to the problem based on cluster analysis of the indicators covered by the Open Society Catch Up Index over ...

We briefly present the project "Clusters of Capitalism. Typology and Dynamics of the Capitalist Economies" continued in 2014 under the title "Identification and Comparative Analysis of the Types of Liberal and State Capitalism (Based on Cluster Analysis)." We consider economic, infrastructural and educational characteristics of the revealed First "Arab" cluster which are examined in dynamics from 1900 to 2005.

Although much has been done about competitiveness of SMEs in the last years, there are many open questions. In this paper we set out to use public Internet information and investigate big number of companies’ web sites. We present a methodology that uses a business intelligence tool for online data collection and analytics for investigation. The goal is to use analytics paradigm and propose an on-line approach for the purposes of company competitive advantage investigation and prediction. We have created process allowing to collect significant empirical data sets through business intelligence tool and to analytically compare organisational competitiveness.
